My Norwegian wife lived in the US before we moved back to Norway. She said the things that surprised her most was how big everything was in the US. Big stores, cars, houses, landscapes and that everything was 24/7.
I have prayed that same prayer in regards to this country
I know a few Brit immigrants; they love the food and restaurants here. They also loved our healthcare, but say it’s quickly turning into the NHS which they hate.
An Austrian friend marveled at our dentists. He hated the Austrian dentists. He would go into Germany for dental work which apparently was better than Austrian dentists but he loved the dentists here.
I was worried more about the stone hedgerows. But Irish drivers were pretty good.
I’m intrigued by your tagline. Details please
My wife grew up in England, and she much prefers the health care here in the states. She was conversing with one of her sisters who still lives in Britain today, and her sister's husband has to wait 8-12 weeks just to see a doctor about a hernia.

Been in a mostly urban suburban setting most of my life..

Did someone say, "German Dentists"?
Amen and Amen
God will give us a swan song.
A great response to a comment on privilege is “Thou shalt not covet...” Envy and avarice are sins.
Probably. My memory is a little fuzzy. :)
ROTFLOL!!!
“...People whose exposure to America is via pop culture never see Americas understated genius...”
And that is a darned shame. All that they are missing; all that they are stubbornly ignorant of. If only they would put down the crack-pipe of pop-culture.
Here’s something that you don’t want to spend a lot of time thinking about — Guess what candidates we will have to choose from as our political leaders in a generation or so?
a childhood friend emigrated to England and complained about the US at a drop of a hat.
I notice she got all her dental work and eye care, she has glaucoma here in the states.
Nothing like a lying leftist.
Thanks, when I saw that it took 15 pages to see the “list”, I left the site.
Sounds like a typical leftist. I bet she whined the whole time about how things were so much better in England!!
