I’ll tell you what is a great day trip, if you have the time.
Hop on the MTA North train towards Poughkeepsie. It is considered one of the top train rides in the world. Leaving Grand Central or Harlem sit on the left side of the train, it is a spectacular ride.
Get off at Garrison. Call ahead and have a cab waiting and go spend some time at the United States Military Academy at West Point. So much history with spectacular scenery. Can’t be beat.
Train is about an hour each way. Spend at least 4-5 hours at The Point.
