North Charleston Patrolman First Class Michael Slager, 33, has been charged with murder in connection with the Saturday morning shooting death of Scott...Summey said Scott was hit with the officer's Taser weapon, and they know that, Summey said, because one of the Taser projectiles was still attached...Reports state Scott attempted to flee, resulting in a foot pursuit. Officer Slager then deployed his Taser weapon to detain the driver but was unsuccessful, a spokesperson for the police department said...Police say an altercation then began between Slager and Scott resulting in a fight for the officer's Taser. During the fight, Scott allegedly gained control of the Taser to use it against the officer who then fired his service weapon at the suspect.

How do you account for the cop going back to pick up the taser and then carrying it back 30 (?) feet to plant it next to the body??
In the one video I have seen of the cop dropping something what he dropped was not the color of a taxer or gun.
What color was it?
Light tan.
Looked more like a wallet than anything else.
However, as some say, every dark black cloud has a silver lining. And the silver lining in this case was as some subtlely and latently suggested, the police be allowed to shoot all sons of bitches and people who run from them. That has too many advantages to numerate. Among them getting rid of judges, lawyers, jails, prisons, jail guards, bailiffs, court reporters, bail bondsmen/women. The only problem is the sons of bitches. To paraphrase: One's son of a bitch is another's angel. But again, nobody is perfect. Ehmmm, on second thought, in the view of many, the police are. Until they catch them in their real or imaginary wrongs. So no, the taser prongs were in the officer story will never go away.
Yup...the teleporting taser:
At the 1 minute mark Slagor jogs back to retrieve the taser...
at 1.30 he drops it by scott..
At the 2 minute mark you can clearly see him pick up the taser that he tossed down and holster it on his left side.

SLED does not think so. The Solicitor does not think so. His former lawyer does not think so, he bailed early. However, there are dozens, if not thousands that agree with you. But, at this point in time, they are only two opinions that matter: SLED and the Solicitor’s. Perhaps later there will be twelve, but that is in the future and time will tell on that one.
Didnt read The op eh?

Slager tasered fail.

http://www.theguardian.com/us-news/video/2015/apr/08/us-police-fatal-shooting-south-carolina-phone-footage-viral-video The troubling part is habersham witnesses this but it is no where in his report...that means he might even be charged as accessory after the fact.
The cop knew from his computer that at most he was late paying child support and that any warrant was just a civil contempt of court one, not a criminal warrant.
Eight in the back is now what you get in the US of A for being late on paying a bill to the State.
If it was so insignificant, why did the fool run as well as put up a fight. The fight itself would be resisting arrest and the chase would most likely be eluding, both felonies where I live. There would have been other charges I am sure.
Argue it with SLED. They are who charged him.
When it gets right down to the nut cutting, I don’t really give a damn.
The truth will come out and those that care will see what happened and those that refuse to see the truth will still be pizzed off.
“...The video supports the scenario of the officer being tangled in taser gear, and thinking the perp has the control...”
I don’t see that and it is going to be rather simple to defeat that defense tactic and here’s why...
Slager knew he shot “at” Scott with the taser, so the taser is not in condition to fire again unless Slager took the time to reload it. Next we are told they are struggling for the taser and Scott breaks off and starts to run away. We see in the video - clearly - that Scott is empty handed as he runs. That means the last hands on that taser are Slager’s and we know this because he has to drop the taser in order to draw his pistol. Furthermore, we know Slager is aware of this because while he is by the body, he suddenly gets the idea to move the taser closer to the body, so he jogs back to where he dropped it - the spot he fired his pistol from - retrieves the discarded taser and brings it back to drop it by the body.
But, let’s say that Scott wrestled the taser from Slager and still had the taser in his hands as he ran. The taser cartridge was expended and Slager knew it because he said he fired it at Scott before the struggle over the taser. Scott looked to be a good 10 feet away and increasing distance, posing no immediate threat to Slager or anyone else, when Slager fired the first shot.
Without the video, maybe a strong defense lawyer pitted against a weak prosecutor could instill enough doubt in the jury. But with the video entered into evidence, it’s going to take a miracle. It’s not unheard of... O.J. pulled off a miracle. If Slager can afford a defense team on par with O.J.’s, maybe he has a chance...
There ya go, just like the perfect little liberal by attempting to put words in my mouth.
Why don’t you take Reading & Comprehension 101.
Understood - some folks are better able to stay cool and rational under extreme pressures while some on the other end of the spectrum cannot control what they do. Some get pissed off and stay cool but cannot control their anger and purposely do more damage than is warranted.
Seems like too many cops that we read about are in the last category - purposeful overdoing the harm. This guy wasn't so shaken up that he couldn't think straight - not with all the direct hits while the guy was fleeing - else he might not have hit him at all with all the shots - the cop opted to kill him and was very efficient.
