The New York Police Department detective filmed unleashing a xenophobic rant on an Uber driver this week has been identified as a member of the FBI's top-secret Joint Terrorism Task Forces (JTTF) — an elite, multi-agency team headquartered in New York. The officer is now facing suspension after the video of him mocking the driver's accent and screaming obscenities at him went viral this week.

The police officer broke the traffic rules, not the driver. He got yelled at by an idiot for nothing.

The driver did his job right, is dressed nattily, spoke excellent English respectfully, and was providing a useful service.

The guys who were on the scene have informed us what happened and taped a good amount of it, without editing.
The guy's own union rep is effectively admitting that he was wrong, but justifying his misbehavior with the statement that he was feeling emotional.

Don’t know about NYC, but in Houston, only marked vehicles (including muted markings) with uniformed officers can do traffic stops. I found this out while driving to work early in the morning some dude driving some subcompact was following me with headlights doing wig-wags. Obviously bogus, and HPD concurred, saying I did the right thing disregarding that vehicle

He’s been put on desk duty and transferred out of the unit. His career is basically over.
