Good Morning, hi, this is Biggirl. Just upgraded to the new Apple OS X on my Apple Mac Mini. I am trying to look for the "URL" so I can in the future post news articles. Has anyone who has an Apple computer and has upgraded please give me some helpful messages. Thank-you. :) =^..^=
It has nothing to do with Apple, Mac or the OS.
I presume you want thenURL for Free Republic.
Here it is: http://www.freerepublic.com
You looking for the URL of FR’s “Post”? (http://www.freerepublic.com/perl/post_article), or something else like the D/L link for OS-X Safari? (https://www.apple.com/support/mac-apps/safari/) Confused by the question.
If you are using Safari, just copy the address line out of the nav bar. It may look like just the title of the page, but if you paste it into anywhere else it pastes in the actual URL.
“Post” is located right next to “Pings” at the top left’ish area of the FR forum page BTW.
If you are saying you want to be able to see the address bar and safari tools in your browser window, they are under the main menu<View<Show tool bar.
You can also customize that tool bar under the “Customize toolbar” option.
If I misunderstood what you were asking for I apologize.
Yes. Download Firefox and stop using safari. You will be happy you did.
It only shows the name of the website in the address bar, until you click on the address bar. Then the URL will show up.
Tried going from SN to Yosimite on my mini - total disaster - partition not readable as startup drive. Staying with SN.
To get the specific address (URL) of the page you are on in Safari, just click on the general URL in the address bar (where it says freerepublic.com above) and it will be both revealed and selected; then just hit Command C to copy.
I hope that answers your question. BTW I had the same question once, too.
Thank-you for your help and God Bless.
See what happened was that for a long time, I was very cautious about upgrading to the newest Apple OS X because of “bad reviews”. Been using since I first got my present Mac Mini the Snow Leopard. But read somewhere that Apple has stop supporting it. I suspect Apple will do that for the other OSX’s that go with the names of big cats in the future. So when I was seeing a messge in my e-mail inbox to remind me to upgrade all the time, I knew it was time to move on up.
I was going to give myself a phone call but forgot the number.
Your response was very helpful. Got an article posted.
If you are using an SSD with trim enabled Yosemite is a disaster. I’m still a Mavericks guy.
I cannot lose the Adobe CS2 apps which run under SN, and cannot afford to upgrade to current versions. AAPL is no help when trying to go from SN to 10.10. May not be possible.
Had clone SN partition on ext HD which I attempted to upgrade variously from Mavericks (upgraded from Lion, which was upgraded from the clone SN) and directly from SN. All failures. AAPL forum deleted my post asking for help (it was in the correct forum and subject) - other posters with similar problems went unanswered.
I just “upgraded” to Snow Leopard.
Now the ClarisWorks drawing program doesn’t work.
Apple needs a.true hdd light. My Yosemite upgrade ran 6 hours and i gave up. Turns out it just wasn’t finished.
