Formerly the "Quinn and Rose Morning Show" thread, our friendly group continues to meet to start the day as we await the return of our favorite morning talk show - ON APRIL FIRST!!!! So if you are preparing to go to work, are getting home from work - or happily retired - stop in and say mornin' and share the latest news, discuss the weather, share a recipe, or whatever!
Morning FRiends!
Sorry for posting late. Busy week finally caught up with me!
Better late than never :)
Hope Mr S is continuing to feel better.
I get to go car shopping. Hubby took my car to work a few weekends ago (on a Sat) since it was snowing & my car handles better than his little truck. On the way home, he hit ice and my car lost the fight with the guardrail. He was ok, which is the most important thing. No other cars involved. We only carried liability, since I had paid it off 4 years ago. Airbag deployed. First place we took it to didn’t look at it for 2 weeks...so we took it to a new place. $4700. More than the car is worth, so no go. :(
Thanks
Good morning!
How is mr s?
A brief story and some interesting coments on
http://www.pbrtv.com/gossip-quinn-and-rose-to-return-april-1/
Even at 72 hes the sharpest tack on talk radio. No one disassembles a story to get to the truth like Q&R.
Oh that is terrible! When oldest son hit a pole a couple of years ago the total was about the same. Luckily his insurance got it BUT a couple of months later the transmission went and that was another $2500.
That came out of his, and my, pocket, LOL!
Cars are dang expensive anymore!
All anyone knows so far is he is supposed to run the show from his home as a netcast with some of his former affiliates picking it up for over the air. Supposedly Rochester NY is on board.
I try to see how it may be a blessing in disguise. The car was pretty sound mechanically - but I had a feeling that I was going to have to put money into it after this harsh weather.
Overall, I’m just so happy that hubby was ok - even the airbag didn’t hurt him - he said the seatbelt locked and he was able to get his head back out of the way when the bag deployed. He was probably only going about 25 mph, but it must have smacked the “right” place. He actually drove it home!
We’re going to call We Buy Any Car to see if they will tender an offer. Otherwise, scrapping it.
So glad your husband was not hurt!! So it sat there at the shop for two weeks? Wow! Talk about bad service! I hate car shopping. Our jeep is paid off in four months and I hope we can keep it on the road as long as possible!
Mr S doing good, but the shopping trip to Sam’s Club after he got out of the hospital took too much out of him. We should have gone straight home afterwards!
I just read the link that prisoner6 posted. As he mentioned, it sounds like they will be on WYSL in Rochester, NY and stream on his website. I’ve heard hints of another station as well.
Yes, at the first shop :( My brother had used them before with good results. The 2nd shop was quick, but just too much to justify to fix.
Aw, poor guy. Hope he is resting today.
Good morning n’@!
Glad to hear that hubby wasn’t hurt-cars can be replaced! Car shopping is NEVER fun (for me). I dread it—my DH makes so many “trips” to look, test drive, etc and then because he doesn’t act quickly enough we “lose” the car he “found” and have to start over. For us it’s like the moon and stars must align. Good luck...hope you find some you like asap!
Hope Mr. S is resting this weekend—SAM’s club exhausts me too—on a good day!
I want to share some good news—I start my new job, at the old location of my former job, sometime in April (depends on how quickly the building renovations occur...a LOT of work being done). College age son got an internship for the summer...now the “logistics” of 4 people working 4 jobs with only 2 cars starts. Lol...come on PA lottery!!!
Sorry to hear about your cars’ misfortune. I feel your pain. I bent the frame on my first beloved car, a dodge dart, when sliding into a wall coming off a ramp into the ‘burg to pick up hubby one icy winter many years ago. I’m glad your hubby was safe.
I am surprised by those comments. In general the radio industry is overrun with absolute flaming Liberals, who tend to spew bitter vile on those sites whenever the story revolves around Quinn, Rush, Hannity, etc.
How did everything go with Mr. S’s procedure?
Happy Friday to you RWI.
Same to you, SWB.
I think I might have a job.
