Interesting. I wonder if the last word should have been edited.
I was taught in Karate and Police Training to grab a pistol by it’s belly near the chamber or cylinder and if you can the part where the hammer will fall.
Sure, you will get a nasty gash but, preventing the gun from firing or firing twice is a small injury comparatively.
It is also thought best to grab the weapon from the backside of the hand wielding the weapon as the strength for the backside is considerably weaker and the aggressor cannot easily push their arm to the outside.
They can exert considerable strength on the inside pull however.
You can overpower them more easily from the outside and while attempting to take the firearm, if you fail, you can easily use your weight and strength to push the firearm back into the aggressor.
At that point and in that position, if it goes off, it’s not really such a bad thing....is it?
You have to be very fast and more importantly, very, very accurate. Otherwise, you’ve annoyed your aggressor. That could turn out... bad.
And they would have to be within 3 to 4 feet.
Liberals recommend you crap yourself and the smell will make the attacked leave you alone. Really. Liberals.
Step 1: Become a Ninja...
Fortunately, I've never had to put the theory to the test.
I have practiced this many times. It requires quick and violent action.
I use a two hand grip. Now what? You strike my left outer wrist but my right hand still has the weapon.
tactical knife in right and left pocket with the will to use them.
BUMP
Just point a finger gun at him and the cops will arrest YOU, NOT HIM.
What if they are aiming sideways (gangsta style)?
Hmm, so sticking a finger in the barrel is a no-no, I take it?
Dang cartoons, they don’t teach you anything useful!
In this situation, my own, personal plan is to cry a lot and piss myself.
Don’t know if it’ll work, but....
As a woman, I have thought about this a lot. I think you guys are “over-thinking” here.
Men tend to get up close to a woman to control her while they stand off from other men. I don’t have to disarm and shoot the guy. Just preventing myself from getting a head shot and disrupting his pattern may save me.
Criminals usually visualize their attacks. Any important disruption derails their concept. I’m not saying some guy won’t press on with the attack and kill the woman but every unusual element works in the victim’s favor.
The Lone Ranger used to look over the shoulder of the thug holding the pistol and act as though there were someone standing in back of him - when the thug was momentarily distracted and maybe even glanced to see what was going on, LR would grab the gun and clobber him - worked every time.....
