Tim Burton is to direct Disney's live action remake of the 1941 classic Dumbo. The iconic cartoon will be remade as a live-action movie with computer generated characters playing the big-eared elephant and his family. To bring the movie into the 21st century, a family story will be added to reflect dumbo's journey.

Tim Burton and Dumbo. What could go wrong??? I am expecting the elephants in Burton's Dumbo to look like the elephants from "Lord of the Rings".

I understand that Barnum and Bailey just laid off a bunch of elephants, maybe they could get a job on this movie, after all they work for peanuts.

I hear Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus are laying off some talented actors that would be very interested in the Dumbo role.

Tim Burton will have a difficult time recreating the beautiful scene with Dumbo and his mother and the song, “Baby Mine.”

For Disney to hire Tim Burton for a family film is lunacy verging on criminally insane.

Oh, I don't know. Tim Burton did an OK job with this format in Alice in Wonderland.

Well, I guess we won't have the
black crows in this version.
Too bad.
Maybe they'll have queer peacocks or something.

Tim Burton “did OK” with Alice In Wonderland?
Dude, for one of many points - there’s a moat filled with blood and thousands of bobbing disembodied heads. Way to turn a children’s story into an adult’s nightmare (unless you’re with ISIS). No question it was well done for what it is, but we’re talking a brilliant-but-deranged director with a track record of turning classic G movies into horror films.

Haha, that’s great.
Who will he get to play Dumbo’s mom though, now that he broke up with Helena Bonham Carter?

The two Alice books by Lewis Carroll are quite disturbing actually.
