America, defined!

Right, it’s mom and dad, a devoted couple, working together for the good of their young. That is a great image and another reason the bald eagle was a good choice for our national symbol.
The real food worries don’t begin until after the eggs hatch. It’s rough going with snow covered terrain. God bless their successful child rearing!
Watching how gentle they are with the eggs is a sight to behold. Such gentle nudging into their chest feathers.
Penn. has a lot of those......rivers.
I got errors at the PA site, found this one which works...

+1.
I was horrified Sunday afternoon when I checked on them and saw one parent stuck to the nest. Freezing rain was coming down and apparently the bird sat still too long. It was straining to get up but couldn't.
But when I checked back the next morning, all was well. The bird was in a different position and seemed just fine. WHEW!
I got a nice screen cap a little while ago of "shift change". Both parents on the nest, one standing up getting ready to take off and the other ready to settle on the eggs.
Looking forward to seeing fuzzy little eaglets in the nest soon and watching them grow!
And hoping this is the last hard hit weather-wise.
That must have been scary! Glad it pulled through.
I’m sure it was unnerving for that poor eagle to be stuck. But in watching nest cams the past few years, I continue to be amazed at how well they get through adverse situations. These two eagles have impressed me as being hardy survivors.
This is the first year I’ve known about this nest cam and I look forward to watching them raise their young.
And I hope Mother Nature is kinder to them from here on out. This was a tough week.
