I served on the USS Casimir Pulaski, SSBN633 in the mid to late 1980’s. I don’t recall a single person who knew who Casimir Pulaski was when I told them the name of my ship.

Pulaski got his military experience fighting off the Russians and Prussians in his native Poland. (What is new? Americans had little practical military knowledge. Ben Franklin met Pulaski in Paris and soon he was across the ocean doing a fine job fighting for our freedom. He should be remembered and honored. http://www.polishamericancenter.org/Pulaski.htm
