I served on the USS Casimir Pulaski, SSBN633 in the mid to late 1980’s. I don’t recall a single person who knew who Casimir Pulaski was when I told them the name of my ship.

My Scotch Irish (Texan) mothers' favorite CW "uncle" had the given name(s) Adolphus Pulaski. It was a pretty common given name back in the day...back when history was actually taught in schools.

(How many high school grads today understand "Lafayette we are here"??
