It Appears There Are Hijacked Freeper Accounts

I found three Freepers (in the last 24 hours that prior to a few days ago (10 days at the most) have not been active in a very long time...... At least a year and a half or more. The other two Freepers have no posts for 7 years and 3 years.

Now prior to that time gap all would have maybe 1 or 2 posts a years several years ago. Yet in the last few days they are posting a lot. I find that very odd?

I think these accounts have been hijacked by the opposition?

For those that are wondering what is an Internet Troll? Trolls, post a deliberately provocative message or messages to a newsgroup or message boards/threads with the intention of causing maximum disruption and argument. This is done primarily by opposition groups.

I'm sure someone could figure out WHO is doing this. We just need to do a trace route on the account to see where it's coming from.

They may have been in their hands all along, there are accounts here that come alive at various times, like election time, and someone then will post 24/7. So they are being operated by several people not just a single person.

Could be there are several sign-ons being operated by one poster, with a political agenda.

That would explain why the original poster says several old logins, seem to have become active.

Maybe it’s just one guy (or girl).

Thank you. I have suspected for *years* that accounts have been hijacked or stolen by Media Matters trolls and shills. It is especially noteworthy when these perps have early signup dates. I suspect that they have taken over abandoned accounts.

I have noticed over the past year several posts that seem to have come out of nowhere from names I have never seen before and when checking them out found the same thing- no posts in years. Lefties used to be allowed. I remember debating with a couple of them who could actually argue without resorting to name calling. Then the newer lefties became more and more irrational and shrill till they all got cut off.

I Read Free Republic Daily, Donate regularly, but post only on occasion. On my posts, I have been accused regularly of being a Troll, a Spy, etc. A few years ago I would have just considered these accusers garden variety nut jobs. Unfortunately, nowadays, our worst nightmares of evil government, monitored communications, etc have all come TRUE! I can’t say I even blame the accusers, considering where we are today.
