Canadian fans of Chris Brown will have to wait a little longer to see the singer in person.
Brown announced over Twitter Tuesday that he was denied entry into Canada and will have to cancel his scheduled concerts in Montreal (Feb. 24) and Toronto (Feb. 25).
Unfortunately I will not be able to perform in front of sold out crowds in Montreal & Toronto, he tweeted. The good people of the Canadian government wouldnt allow me entry. Ill be back this summer and will hopefully see all my Canadian fans!
The Kiss Kiss singer was supposed to make an appearance at Drakes annual OVO festival in Toronto last summer, but the planned collaboration was nixed due to his criminal record in the U.S.
Brown, who is touring with Trey Songz and Tyga, has had numerous brushes with the law over the years. He was charged and sentenced for felony assault of then-girlfriend Rihanna before the 2009 Grammy Awards, and more recently was jailed in 2014 for probation violations.
In 2010, Brown was also banned from entering the United Kingdom.
Update: Brown's tweets have since been deleted.
Maybe he will feel better if he beats up Rianna again.
At least the Canadians know how to control their border. He’s trash, they’re right.
I have no idea who he is.
He’s unique...a violent Black male rapper.
Canada Ping!
Though honestly, I say we lock Justin Bieber in Canada until they relent.
I don’t even want to know.
I say this injustice cannot stand, we must retaliate, Ban Justin Bieber from the US!
“But, Mr. Minister, it isn’t like this film is the first troublesome thing to come out of Canada. Let us not forget Bryan Adams.”
“Now, now, the Canadian Government has apologized for Bryan Adams on several occasions!”
Felons from the US are denied entry to Canada.
His PR personnel should have known this. Oh well.
Go Canada!
Of course it's wrong, but to be entangled in international affairs ?
Isn't something just a little askew ?
I was thinking it is...
“You Canadians are all trash! With your beady eyes and your flapping heads!”
“You’re a racist, ma’am!”
