Oh...and Carmen sang the sparking and seductive “Habanera” while washing clothes in a bucket.

I am not making this up.

That image is a work of art.

Not the pup. The sled dogs.

Amazing shot.

Dear Lord. What have we come to?

My favorite "Carmen" is still the 1984 Placido Domingo and Julia Migenes version done on film. Francesco Rosi directed a French opera about Spain as though it were an American movie musical. The amazing thing is that it worked. I have the DVD in my collection.

Julia was a fresh, naughty, cute and beautiful carmen. She could win the heart of Frosty the Snowman.

The WOOman who played her in this version was quite...er..plump, with the legs to match. And she kept showing them! LOL!

She certainly won mine. Julia’s problem was that her voice wasn’t big enough to fill up an opera house. But it sure worked on film.

“Amazing shot.”

Indeed. I think I’d have dropped my camera and ran for my life with that pack of bad-boys approaching.

Tough dogs...all business.

They have mics everywhere now in the Opera House.

“BIG” isn’t necessarily beautiful. But I know what you mean. Plus, on film, you get the close-ups and can see the emotions.

Carmen can be sung from everybody from a Contralto to a Dramatic Soprano. It is a delicious role! :-)
