WATCH: Shocking Video Shows College Students Condemning Free Speech and The 1st Amendment!

A man-on-street video. The University of Michigan took some pretty big steps toward stifling free speech on its campus this month with its “Inclusive Language” program. They’ve even gone as far as to create a list of “unacceptable words”. Just how important is the 1st amendment to students today. I’m pretty sure that after watching the video, you’ll feel more compelled to protect the 1st amendment than ever before!

I’m 50 and I’m all for full engagement in the culture war. I have no interest in rap music but I’m an avid promoter of good pro America TV and movies.

Not all that long ago there was a debate about having some books in UofM libraries put on some sort of restricted reading list. These were books that would not be removed from the library without a specific set of authorizations and reading them there would require a name and identification. At the top of the list many students suggested for the list was Mein Kampf and The Bible.

While debating these people about this a lot of people suggested that some things were just too dangerous for the general public to handle and only appropriately educated people should have access to dangerous texts like Mein Kampf or the Bible.

It never occurred to them that in a way that they were suggesting a willful return to the dark ages for all but an “educated” few.

"You do realize that your attitude helps no one right? It’s why were losing. Conservatives say “screw’em!” Liberals say “We’ll take them!” ... and we’ll never win again."

I can definitely say I agree with Pyitar....we should "Go Galt" on them....the hell wit'm.

I don’t agree. These kids aren’t yet liberals. In some cases, they have never heard an opposing viewpoint presented let alone presented coherently. It is still posiible to educate some of them and make them think and question what they’re being told.

Students are now 180 degrees away from the original free speech movement at UC Berkeley.

No, they are not. The "free speech" movement of the 60's was never about free speech. It was about making Leftist speech sacred, while non-Leftist speech got shut down.

I grew up in the Gran Torino barbershop scene.

I grew up hearing my great grandfathers calling each other Damn Pollock and the F’n Kraut. One of them lived next door to a Jewish couple and that’s what they called them (The Jew and his wife). They were all best of friends and the Pollock’s son married the F’n Kraut’s daughter and became my grandparents.

My dad’s best friend was a Mexican they called Brownbelly. One of my friends is Mexican and we still call him Spic and he calls me Stickey. Among my other friends are Munky, Bucket, Herpe, and Head.

“The jerks deserve the future they are helping to create. Screw ‘em.”

I grew up right on the tail end of the inagaddadavida 60’s
hippie area and watched the generation that is in power now,
with total disgust. They were the group that was 5 to 7
years older than us and they sucked. That was the generation
of jerks. These kids are not that bad. Crowder was able to
get to them. They still have hope. Sooner or later they are
going to have to get a job. That’s the true day of reckoning.

“Among my other friends are Munky, Bucket, Herpe, and Head.”

OK this is weird, Munky was a guy whos last name was Munkin,
Bucket was short for Burkett, Herpe was Herps for the cold
soles he had and Head was Benny who had a big fat head.
That was many years ago but I still keep in touch with
Munky and Head.

There’s a very simple retort to this nonsense. I refuse to be made responsible for someone else’s feelings. If they don’t like the words I choose, tough.

EXACTLY. How can we write them off when they plainly admit in the video that they’ve never even heard this POV before? That’s entirely the right’s fault. They haven’t even tried to get the message out there.

Unfortunately we have a hard time getting any truth out there as we’re blocked by a lying press. And now Obama has asked the FEC to police the internet. However we do it we’d better figure it out and do it soon because time is short.

"Hippies were largely Libertarian."

Although these protesters we "pre hippie", you are absolutely right. In the 60s the spirit of the social revolution was absolute freedom, less government and 'question authority'. Somehow that has morphed into a sub strata of people who want to be thought of as free spirits, but love omnipotent government and oppressive authority. I don't get it ...and apparently, neither do they.

Hippies were largely Libertarian.

You mean those hippies that marched chanting "Hey Hey Ho Ho, Western Civ has got to go"?
