Good.

Don't follow dog shows but any show that didn't name a dobbie Best in Show would obviously be biased. :)

Stormy, twice.
1952 and 1953.

When Borong’s beloved owner Henry, suddenly died, Borong followed him to the grave barely a week later.

Sorry, not Borong.

Ferry v. Rauhfelsen of Giralda

Royal Tudor’s Wild As The Wind

Borong and Stormy were friendly but intense rivals.

They are very attached to their people.

And somehow they know the difference between "gone for a bit" and "gone forever".

Stormy was Ferry's grandson. [Ferry was a legend and a foundation sire]

Stormy was nice

but I much preferred Borong.

The Tudor dog was a nice bitch but not really to my own taste.

Too much rear angulation, as has been the case for far too long.

Borong was the reject of the litter and Henry sort of bought him out of pity.

Stormy’s awards are mostly forgotten but the mention of the name “Borong” still gives old coots like me the chills.

He was one of the greats.

He went *everywhere* with Henry and was only incidentally a show dog.

He was Henry’s best friend and they were never separated, until death.

And that, only briefly.

Westminster pisses me off and I rarely watch it.

“Typey”, correct dogs are passed over for more “popular” ones, more popular owners and sometimes, even politics.

There was no good reason that Portuguese Water Dog should have won best of working group except Obeyme had just gotten one.

And the announcers fawned all over that dog.

It made me sick.

I wish I were as great as my dogs think I am.

Actually, I posted this thread last year. :~ )
But I did watch last night. The biggest disappointment came from the non sporting group. I thought any of the dogs chosen as 2nd, 3rd & 4th - the Dalmation, Standard Poodle or Boston Terrier - should have won ... Not the Bulldog.
In fact, as beautiful as the Poodle & Dalmation were, that Boston was the nicest one I’ve seen in a very long time.
The rest of the groups were no surprise.

Right now, my money is on the German Shepherd to win Best in Show, but we’ll have to see who’s in the running after the groups tonight.

The announcer thought it was going to be the Boston, too.

We’ll see what happens tonight. The German Shepherd is nice, though I don’t think as nice as past winner Manhattan or the famous Mystique.

Haha, that’s the way with almost ALL conformation events.
