Count me a minority of one. What happened to Ray Rice was totally unfair. Granted his punishment was not harsh (assuming workplace punishment should even happen). But this is the guy who did everything that was asked of him, even married the girlfriend, and they appear as a couple saying they've worked it out through counseling. So the NFL is punishing someone who did everything that was asked of him? What message does that send? Double jeopardy is un-American.

Would Baltimore have fared better if Ray Rice were there for the playoffs?

Nobody is perfect. Spousal violence is awful and out of control. But not because of the way Ray Rice handled a very bad situation. Our society is demanding a level of perfection that doesn't exist, but only when it decides the person isn't somehow blessed and immune from controversy.

He just doing the image rehab tour that celebrities/entertainers go through to try and reestablish their career after a scandal. Given that his skills were already noticably eroding I’m betting that if he does catch on somewhere else it will be at the league minimum.

He’ll be back on a one-year contract somewhere, if he passes physical — but it will have to be a team like Oakland, where the fans don’t give a **** that ‘he knocked the ***** out’, or a team that needs a lot of help, like, oh, archrival Cleveland.

One of the ways Rice can reclaim his reputation is if he is seen dragging the guy who implemented the “No More” campaign out of the elevator by his hair.
