Its not very often that Hollywood unleashes two major theatrical bombs over the same weekend. But thats what happened when Jupiter Ascending and Seventh Son both crashed and burned in U.S. theaters on Friday.
Warner Bros. Jupiter Ascending, starring Channing Tatum and Mila Kunis, is quickly dropping in estimates to a thin $18 million weekend at the box office. With a budget north of $175 million, the Wachowskis sci-fi fantasy tentpole could lose tens of millions barring a dramatic turnaround overseas.

Sucked in most movies except for the The Eagle and Jump Street. I recommend The Eagle.

age brings a better perspective. I learned to love Die Hard in my late 30s...dismissed it when it first came out.
Jupiter Ascending was filmed in part in the next town over, and the Mrs. took the 7 year old and the 14 year old to watch the shooting. After they were done for the day the stars spent an inordinate amount of time mingling with the spectators. Tatum spent a good while talking to my kids and taking pictures.
Still not gonna see the movie. I'm sure they will, though.
Those and all the “slow, thoughtful movies, with little dialogue, ambiguous endings, with beautiful cinematography” like “the sound of my voice”, etc.
