Joe Bastardi ping.
A post and run because I have several things going on at one time. I’ll check back later. Thanks.
Joe BUMP! :)
It's February and the weather is behaving accordingly.
Looks like a lot more cold and perhaps some snow (finally) for Wash DC in about 10 days.
Joe said you would “remember the rest of this winter for the rest of your life”...for those of us trapped in soviet Red England; he was ‘spot on’.
Thank you for taking the time to post Weatherbell. Looks like some relief for Southern California later in the month and through March.
Thanks for the ping. Woohoo! We reached 40 today! Looks like it is going to drag on for a couple more months. BTTT.
I was joking with a friend a week ago.
I said these are the winters I remember as a kid.
Snow up to my knees and waist.
But at that time I was only 2-3 feet tall. -tom
If it is like ‘69 So Cal is in for it big time.
That's what I was in (and then some) digging a path to the fuel tank for the deliveryman...now 3 MORE days of this crap? (Can you tell I'm not a skier or snowmobiler?)
Last week I was watching a Boston Station doing an interview with several Quincy residents at a supermarket getting ready for the impending sorm. They were upbeat and put up a brave front about the coming storm.
When the interviews were over the TV reporter delivered what was to me a critical consideration.
She said those people were pretty upbeat, prepared and unconcerned, "but all that goes out the window when the power goes down".
We were lucky in Scituate we didn't lose power, although it was deliberately shut down in certain areas for the houses along the waterfront. Turns out it was a good move.
(Yes I know some have generators but most don't.)-Tom
The media here in Red Hampshire ALWAYS finds the family with the generator to interview during a power failure...how about a sample from the majority (as you stated) who don’t have a generator? Not comfy enough for the media, I’m sure...
I do not like frigidity
either in the country or the city
I do not like it on my hands
I do not like it in my trash cans
I do not like this forecast Sam I Am.
Thanks for the ping. I’m not looking forward to a lot more cold.
Lions & Tigers & Snow oh my Forecast for the lower PNW where we are recovering from 5” of rain in 36 hours http://www.weather.com/weather/tenday/l/Eureka+CA+USCA0360
Once again, greatly appreciated... Long and strong cold winter pattern sets up, beginning around the 15th.
Vladivostok is a city in Siberia, but far eastern Siberia, on the Pacific Ocean, perhaps not the city sending us the kind of cold-cold weather Joe is talking about.
So, how about Siberia's largest city, surely that will serve Joe's purpose in citing an example of "cold" -- it's named Novosibirsk, about 1.5 million people in central Siberia, doubtless a good example of where all our future cold weather will be coming from?
Novosibirsk: think of Minneapolis, but 10 degrees (F) colder, or Fairbanks, but 10 degrees warmer.
