What the Hell is wrong with our society when this is considered "plus size?"

Model Ashley Graham has become the first plus size model to ever feature in an issue of Sports Illustrated magazine. The 26-year-old model, who was raised in Lincoln, Nebraska, features in a beautiful new campaign for swimwear brand swimsuitsforall, which was today unveiled as the first ever plus size ad to have been selected to grace the pages of the publication's iconic Swimsuit Issue. 'I know my curves are sexy and I want everyone else to know that theirs are too,' the size 16 fashion star said of her ground-breaking campaign.

She’s a big girl but she’s OK.
Basically, she’s a good looking woman with a little extra weight. There isn’t much risk in putting her on the cover. If they really wanted to strike a blow for heavy women (and men for that matter), put Hillary!, Rosie O’Donnell or Barbara Mikulski in a bikini on the cover, or Michael Moore in a speedo on the cover.

She is delicious as hell
Fat. Not morbidly obese, but she’s still fat.
But the extra weight is distributed in the right places, she has a waistline, and she's very pretty.
What kills me is when 300 lb. women call their fat rolls "curves."
To some, it is a plus.
sports illustrated has become a complete joke the past decade...

Actually, I’d not call that “a little extra”.
The word “normal” comes to my mind.
She looks just fine to me.
Her plus seems more a minus. This girl is not fat, she is shapely and full figured, as nature (and admiring onlookers) intended.
Now THAT is REAL WOMAN!

2) re: "I know my curves are sexy". I object to the trend of calling fat women "curvy". Sophia Loren and Raquel Welch, in their prime, were curvy. If your waist is significantly less circumference than your hips, then you can call yourself "curvy". Otherwise, don't.
