Both quarterbacks have won four super bowls with their teams. Who's the greatest quarterback of all time? Joe Montana or Tom Brady?

Well it is unfair to ask since Tom is still playing thank God. If he wins another Superbowl or two, Brady will go down as the best player in the history of football. Time will tell.

All athleticism seems to have improved over time, so I'm not sure that's a fair question
And the catches receivers make are the things that make people say .. "What a good quarterback", when the act was a joint effort

Joe Montana in my opinion. Although Brady is now in the conversation no doubt and if someone wants to argue on behalf of him then its OK with me
To: MinorityRepublican
Neither. Johnny Unitas. Hands down. Played the game when quarterbacks weren’t over-protected pretty boys like Brady. If the wuss QB protection penalties were in place back in Unitas’ day, no one else would be in the conversation.

Montana was great, but he had a lot of talent around him on offense. Jerry Rice, Roger Craig, Dwight Clark, etc.
Think of all the players Tom Brady has had around him in New England, how many can you even name at the top of your head, unless you are a die-hard Patriots fan?

Brady. Brady throws longer passes.

Different eras. Wilson is great and lucky. Brady is great and really lucky. The difference tonight? Good luck for one, bad luck (and a bad call) for the other. Ask Tyree...

Yep. Best big game QB in an era where pass defenders had the edge and could actually play pass defense.

There is no "I" in team.
Except in the case of Joe Montana.
Took an.... Okay... Chiefs team (bordering on kinda bad) and took to our last Playoff wins and AFC Championship. (PAST his prime)
Joe Montana, hands down.

And the catches receivers make are the things that make people say .. "What a good quarterback", when the act was a joint effort If that's true, then why haven't we seen decent quarterbacks like Tony Romo, Philip Rivers, Matthew Stafford take their teams to the Super Bowl yet? You need an elite quarterback to take your team to the big dance.
