The Left and Absolute Sexual Freedom
American Thinker ^ | 2-1-15 | Fay Voshell

Posted on 02/01/2015 1:29:42 PM PST by ReformationFan

C.S. Lewis wrote in 1952 that “perversions of the sex instinct are numerous, hard to cure, and frightful.”

The good Oxford don did not live to see the times we now live in, times in which progressive extremists can state a straight face that actually there are no sexual perversions – times in which even the long-held taboos against pedophilia and incest are falling like dominoes.

The evidence that in the name of absolute sexual freedom, traditional taboos are no longer to be honored is everywhere. While sexual perversion has always existed, it has never been as widely tolerated and even promoted as it is today.

Examples abound – too many to cite.

But there is the case of the teenage girl who has decided to marry her dad and move to New Jersey, where incest, she stated, is legal.

Will the Christian Church step up to recover its two-thousand-year-old commitment to Christ’s view of man and woman, sexuality and marriage?

Perhaps

But I think it will take a great calamity to bring society at large back to God.

The morality of the society is now primarily in the hands of the entertainment industry and that industry is firmly in the hands of the soulless Left; the purveyors of smut and promoters of sexual perversion.

The difference is that yours (and mine) are natural lusts. Man naturally looks at women and find them sexually attractive. Women naturally look at men and find them sexually attractive.

Homosexuality is a step beyond beyond because it’s an un-natural lust. It rejects the natural and is that much more wicked.

True. God also makes that distinction, in that Homosexuality so vile He calls it an "abomination" - which in Hebrew (תּוֹעֵבָה) is the strongest word of loathsome and detestable found.

A woman's beauty is, well, beautiful. God gave them that. But as you said, the unnatural lust of a man for another's man's anus is so filthy and disgusting that I am tired and sick of being bombarded with their "rights" to do such wickedness.

When I want to be reminded of God's gifts, I am reminded of the beauty of a mother and daughter. Homosexuals can NEVER, EVER grasp this, or come close to it. Theirs is a sin of selfishness and demonic self-hatred. They "adopt" the children of normal relations, and attempt to use every opportunity to pervert them and infuse the innocent with wickedness.

“Will the Christian Church step up to recover its two-thousand-year-old commitment to Christ’s view of man and woman, sexuality and marriage?”

You might be interested to read the Mormon church’s “proclamation on marriage” which states, in part, the following:

“...The family is ordained of God. Marriage between man and woman is essential to His eternal plan. Children are entitled to birth within the bonds of matrimony, and to be reared by a father and a mother who honor marital vows with complete fidelity. Happiness in family life is most likely to be achieved when founded upon the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ.”

Isn’t the difference between animal and human self control of lust?

I think that a better way to put it is; Deferred gratification in pursuit of long term goals.

I think that it is really planning for the future, especially a future that is beyond your own lifetime is what the true difference between animal and human.

But yes self-control is at its most basic what sets apart true human beings and mere Homo sapiens.

If we didn’t have self-control many of us would eat our children.

Agree about C. S. Lewis but this statement in the article isn’t correct, “While sexual perversion has always existed, it has never been as widely tolerated and even promoted as it is today.”

Ever hear about a city named Sodom? Not even 10 righteous people. God smoked it because of the wickedness of their sexual perversion.

What you are doing in your constant promotion of drug usage is in league with this evil. It is part and parcel of the same moving forces. The forces of chaos and destruction.

I’ve never heard a libertarian say any such thing, but you mileage apparently varies.

It is an axiomatic consequence of their assertion that the government shouldn't impose morality.

Libertarians won't defend it overtly, but they will defend the principle it is founded on.

It is one thing to be an pervert.

It is another thing to openly promote perversion.

It is only recently in history that we have seen the open promotion of perversion. And yes that is evil.

Yes even on here a couple of years back and it shows how sick they are and how much more left wing they are than liberals on social issues.

Showing that woman and her beauty only backs my view up that homosexuals must be mentally ill.

exactly.

All we hear about liberatarians is how Govt should not impose laws to adults bla bla. but question them on what they want like incest, beastiality, age consent all drugs, homosexuality borders and they will have more of a communist view.

I have never promoted drug usage.

It has been your primary purpose since you joined Free Republic. It is just about all you do.

Again, your promotion of drug usage is simply lending support to the marching forces of evil. You are adding to the forces of chaos, not opposing them.

False - what I promote is the liberty of adults to make their own decisions regarding their drug use or non-use.

There are certain decisions adults aren't entitled to make. Dosing themselves with narcotic drugs which directly impact their ability to make rational decisions is one of those decisions that no adult is entitled to make. You can only make rational decisions when you don't tamper with the "rational decision" part of your brain. You might as well say Lobotomy patients are of "sound mind." No, they are not, and neither are drug addicts. Once they start consuming it, the chemical is speaking for them.

Your ideas are incompatible with civilization. They are suited to back woods hermits but contrary to the interests of any functional society.

Lack of sleep directly impacts adults' ability to make rational decisions, as does drinking alcohol; is government therefore authorized to set adults' bedtimes and ban alcohol?

You might as well say Lobotomy patients are of "sound mind." No, they are not, and neither are drug addicts.

What about nonaddicted users?
