Priest tells of training as kamikazi, human torpedo, and suicide bomber during WWII
Naha, Okinawa, Dec. 9 at Camp Hansen, Okinawa.
CAMP HANSEN, Okinawa Paul Saneaki Nakamura prepared three times to carry out a suicide attack for Japan during World War II. It took the countrys near-death for him to find religion and become a priest.
Nakamura recently shared his experiences which included training as a kamikaze pilot, human torpedo and suicide bomber with about 300 Marines at Camp Hansen to help them see war from a different perspective.
“training as a kamikaze pilot, human torpedo and suicide bomber”
He never got to use his education- what a waste.
This man was once an enemy, but even then, I’d have respected him.
Dorkbama is now an enemy, and I never have, nor ever will, respect him.
We can only hope.
Contrary to popular belief if there was no high value target to attack the kamikazis RTB. In a typical attack one plane out of a 5 plane sortie was designed to go back to base and report damage.
However, be VERY glad the Kawanishi Baika (Plum Blossom) never made it to production, let alone operational service. Based heavily on the Fiesler Fi 103 (the V-1) pulsejet-powered flying bomb, the Baika would have a pilot fly a pulsejet-powered suicide attack plane at 420-425 mph at low altitude, and would have enough range so they could have posed a very serious threat to any US Navy ship within 100 miles of the Japanese Home Islands.

Curious to know what perspective he was intended to leave them with....
Very good friend whom I hired to work at our hospital years ago grew up on Taiwan and tells of having been conscripted by the Japanese, who controlled the island back then, for kamikaze training - he was within about a month of being assigned to a flight when the war ended - it’s a strange world.....
“Now pay attention because I’m only going to show you this once.”
Three humungous submarine aircraft carriers DID make it to production! ≡≡8-O
