Fox News Channel contributor Brit Hume shared the news that Facebook had disabled his account in a Twitter post Thursday, adding only that he was informed the action was due to using a false identity.
Though he sought a response from the social media site responsible, his post also prompted others to weigh in with possible reasons for the block.

Well, if his FB account showed up on Twitter, it should have been disabled. ~sigh~ Does anyone proofread these days?
I disabled my Facebook. Back when my wife passed away, I changed my profile to ‘widow’. Soon after that I began receiving a constant barrage of online dating solicitations. EHarmony, Match etc. Think Facebook was selling my ID? I do.
I stick to the mobile version, no room for ads.
