Eat your heart out, Lassie!
Masha, a long-haired tabby cat, saved the life of a baby abandoned in the streets of Russia after she climbed into the box he was discarded in and kept him warm, health officials said.
The baby had only been outside for a few hours and thanks to Masha
he was not damaged by the experience, a hospital spokesman told Central European News.
The whiskered hero even meowed to get the attention of a passerby.

It’s amazing how long those catboxes will “stay” clean if you aren’t vigilant :-p

One day openly doubting the virtues of cats will probably be criminal so until then I will be unconcerned to express my primitive beliefs.

Cats love to curl up on bodies for warmth. If you had one and treated it right, you'd know. This cat and the baby had a mutual benefit going on. What's wrong with that?
To: bkepley
I call BS. Its just not in the nature of a cat.
Right, there are dumb animals which a cat is not but they are for them selves.

If you expect the cat to be a selfish, self-serving cat that is looking out for cat, he knows, and acts accordingly. He saves his affection for someone who cares.

That cat looks a lot like my dearly departed Anabelle, who was hit by a car in front of my house last year.
Don't be sad for me, though: My wife got me kittens for Christmas!
If that makes me a sensitive girly man, then I am ready to put on a pink tutu and become Barry's next down low body man.

What’s wrong with that?
Nothing at all wrong with it, just be glad it was a cat instead of a rattle snake as they will do the same.

You are incorrect. Not too long ago thete was a video of a cat saving a toddler that got dragged and chewed up by a dog. The cat instantly pounced on the dog. Some cats are just as loyal as dogs
To: bkepley
Clearly, you don’t know cats. . .especially mine.

Well but then there is my 112 year old blue heeler who likes to clean out the cat box and then come lick me. He’s never been into licking faces though. That would be the 70 year old dachshund.

I have 8 cats here, one of them a "guest cat" who started showing up to eat after its humans moved away from next door.
I often have 2 or 3 cats in bed with me. Have even found the guest cat snuggling up with me in the morning.
Are they just using me for my body heat? Maybe... but IMO they're welcome to as much of my body heat as they want!
Good for the hero cat in this article!

My little one will use the litter box, then lick herself clean. Then shell hop in bed with me and lick my face clean as well.I don't let anything lick my face that licks its own butt, but that's just me...

That cat’s motivation was most likely it spotted a box, also known as a cat trap, and climbed in. The staying with the baby who was occupying the cat’s new found property was secondary.
My cats can’t wait until I get home from Costco so I can throw the empty boxes on the floor.
