Awww. I've had a good deal of respect for Swift ever since I learned she turned down a career development contract with Sony at age 15 because they wouldn't guarantee she could sing her own songs. That takes some integrity when you're unknown and trying to make it in the music biz. Nice to see.

That $1989.oo 'gift' represents 2/3rds of one semester at a local Community College.
The "student loan" problem is the next bubble to burst in this 'recovery economy' by Obadinga.

It’s possible I have heard one of her songs - seriously I think I actually heard only one of them - and it was completely forgettable whatever it was. Having said that, I really like this young lady. She’s just neat. I hope she never ends up like so many other young pop stars.

The "student loan" problem is the next bubble to burst in this 'recovery economy' by Obadinga. Yes, this March after ten years I will have finally finished paying mine off. I predict shortly thereafter there will be some sort of "student loan amnesty" that as a taxpayer I'll have to help fund.

I don't really know who she is, other than she is a celebrity, but I saw a story on the internet somewhere about how she actually wrapped and delivered Christmas gifts to some of her fans. Yeah, it is pretty shrewd PR, but it is still pretty nice and takes effort, so I'll give her credit for it.

Tim McGraw is still my favorite song she sings.

Yep, and maybe the next popular revolt. The RATS in the Clinton era pushed the foolish notion that everyone needs to go college and pushed student loans for everyone. The banks and educrats made billions, and we have a whole generation of low income, college educated debt slaves. Proving once again that the scariest words in the English language are “I’m with the government and I’m here to help you!”
But I really just thought I’d post a nice story for a change, as a break from all the nasty and evil stuff people do.

Taylor Swift, as far as I can tell, is the Real Deal. She's smart, energetic, organized, spiritual, thoughtful, and a hell of a good singer, songwriter, and musician. She's exploring her creative space with interest and integrity.
I like a few of her songs a lot; most are country-pop and kinda forgettable, but a handful are sheer dynamite.
I pray she avoids the pitfalls of the music biz and continues to cut her own path through the woods.
Good on her for doing personal stuff to make her fans happy. I believe it's sincere.

She’s as fake as a $3 bill. The queen of contrived innocence she is.

As a Junior college graduate
I then went to State University where I graduated
I don't hate Community college
as thats where I went from the Deans Crap list, to the Deans list, where I remained.
I have a problem when college expenses EXCEED the monetary return!

I'm not a fan of hers (wrong gender and wrong age demographic, LOL), but everything I've seen of her suggests she plays close attention to maintaining a good public image.
She did a version of George Strait's "Run" at a country music awards show a few years ago that was really magnificent. And I usually find covers disappointing.

Yeah, but the SNL skit turned it into a cult classic. I just changed my tagline because you posted this. LOL.
