Sorry Bender, your Packers are going down.
Aaron Rogers and his rickety leg made it thru yesterday (with some help from the refs), but Seattle is really good right now. Defense wins, and Seattle’s D is firing on all cylinders.
The other one is close, but NE has the experience.
Certainly Manning’s sub par play (for Manning) helped but the key to the Colt’s victory was Denver’s total inability to sustain any kind of pressure on Luck. This may be the first game all year where the Colt’s O-Line owned their opponent.
I thought the Colts, err Luck, would win and I am not a fan of the team. I also thought that Newton would revert back to the Good Cam mode and give Seattle fits. I was wrong about the latter.
The reversal was correct because a few years ago they put in the maintain control rule because guys were getting credited for scores while fumbling the ball out of the end zone. Damned if you do... damned if you don’t.
if you insist, but my statement still remains the same. 12 man wins superbowl.
Yep.
ANY rule that says THAT was NOT a catch? Is faulty, and
should be changed.
That was a catch... 100%, hands down.
If the NFL rules don’t recognize it? Then, the rules are wrong.
That, is the bottom line.
If he had pulled it in to his chest, even with one hand, it would have been a catch. Otherwise, he was still trying to get control as he hit the ground. In any case, it is the correct call under current rules, even if it should perhaps be changed. Last week was a series of inconsistent calls all benefiting one team.
Karma has a way of striking back. Detroit benefited from two bad calls to get to the play offs, and lost due to another. Dallas made to Sunday’s game on a bad call and had one go against the same player who should have given Detroit a first down by storming onto the field with no helmet.
So.....did Dez make that catch or not?
Seattle by 6 over the Packers
Tom Brady gets his LAST post-season win, ever, (by 6) over the Colts.
lol...I don't think bender is much of Packers fan right now..... I think you have him mixed up with the double Homer.
Not only a catch but a touchdown catch. Just watch the entire sequence. Player catches ball, momentum takes him to ground, slides across goal line on stomach, never touched by opponent, rolls over, ball never touches ground and player is in complete control while on his back. Changes nothing and in addition Packers would only need field goal to win. However, poor review by whoever. And that was not the only poor review.
Going be Seattle and Tom Brady go Old men puppet from Jeff Dunham act Walter against the team
What?
Who cares? Go Ducks! QUACK!
My Loins are no longer play-off-virile but...
The Pack doubles down on defense away from home; hey, somebody GOTSA Blitz sometime, baby.
Russell will be required to beat them by passing (chuckle, chuckle, chuckle). Pack by 4.
Hmmmm, Bradiac, one of (—how many winning QBs did Meechigan put in the NFL this generation—) a few Schembechler-esqe players left playing will have little problem solving the Indy-IRSAYs’ defense while Bill Belichek will cheat, cheat and then cheat again on defense to stuff the DOLT offense (and INDY won’t be able to stop him from using his Cheat-Cheating-Cheat ways). Patriots by, oh, 14 or so...give or take 4.
Pack v. Patriots in the “Big Game” [since Roger Goodell should never get ONE DAMN DIME for me saying...well...you know...that “phrase”]. My pick in 2 weeks.
Agreed!
Also, any rule that says a defender can can make substantial contact (not just slappy-hands) with a receiver without making a play for the ball should be considered pass-interference.
Bender, I’m not whining but did you see the “face-guard” penalty in the Colts/Broncos game?
No pick up on that!
Consistency is nothing without...well..consistency!
Today’s big question: Will OH-How-I-Hate control the wide-out screen of Oregon?
I think they will. Buckeyes by 10.5
And, no///I ain’t offering money for that spread.
Hate the Pats. Hate the Seawhiners.
Generally just tired of Packers fans.
That leaves the Colts. Aside from the time I spent living in Indiana, you also have to give mad props to an organization smart enough to pack up and leave Baltimore, in a manner that was essentially a giant middle finger.
So... GO COLTS!
After 2 pretty solid weeks of mostly great football this playoff is going to take a serious dip next week. Both games will probably be 3 score margins (same as they were last time these pairingw met) as the Hawks and Pats get a practice scrimmage on their way to the SB. But take heart, the Pro Bowl will be much much worse, and the SB should be good.
That guy was an almost 39 year old man (10 weeks) whose had 4 neck surgeries one of which was thought to be career ending. Father time is undefeated.
