Even though Harry Potter has graduated Hogwarts and moved onto bigger and brighter things (with decidedly less peril), J.K. Rowling is still creating magic with her words. As evidenced by her stunning takedown of Rupert Murdochs ignorant comments about the recent events in Paris.
On Friday, the News Corp chairman had some stunningly misguided words for the Muslim people of the world in the wake of the Charlie Hebdo attack in Paris, calling for the Moslems of the world to take the blame. Terrorism, you see, is their problem and theyll have to either fix it for the rest of the world, or resign themselves to being held accountable for every single bad thing the extremists do. That doesnt seem very logical, does it?

Her books were moderately amusing one-reads, nothing particularly exciting, interesting, or even that original. Yes, I read them all because once I get started in a series, I can’t quit in the middle, but they went downhill pretty steadily from the second or third and the last was barely worth the time it took to read it.
Murdoch was right.
Rowling is an idiot.
MTV, owned by CBS, is a shill for morons.
well she might want to go after her own British broadcasters..
SKYNEWS is calling them Islamic terrorists too..
and good for Murdoch...
This ought to please muslims: The worlds foremost witch, witch expert and witch writer, has come to their defense.”
Once she is fitted for her burka will her witch hat fit over it?
These crazed liberal women who do not understand that Sharia law means they will have to give up short skirts, short-shorts, skinny jeans and boots.
And their daughters will be waxed forehead to toe so that they can be as hairless as Mohammed’s six-year-old bride before they marry.
Good points..
when I was a teenager in New Zealand, I “finished” high school..
as you said, we didn’t “graduate” from o9r not..
These crazed liberal women who do not understand that Sharia law means they will have to give up short skirts, short-shorts, skinny jeans and boots.

Wouldn’t that technically be Dire Straits?
Didn’t one of the stars in her movie get kidnapped, beaten, and her own family tried to force her into an arranged marriage back in Pakistan? Of course, once in court, she
“dropped” all the charges - it seemed to me that the last thing she wanted was to hurt her own family. But it happened, nevertheless.
You would think after being that close to it Rowling would realize the dangers in this thing. But like people that live with abusers, they are the most clueless of all.
Whats a MTV?A liberal cable television channel that's been indoctrinating young people since the early 1980's.
I started twenty pages of one of these, and just came to a quitting point....realizing it was rough two-star material and nothing really of value in terms of literature. Maybe kids like it....for the fantasy stuff, but for literature, it’ll be forgotten in less than twenty years.
As for her comments? If Christians in London were actively raping women, proclaiming this was agreeable with their teachings, torturing people, chopping heads off in appreciation of God’s values, and killing children....yeah, you Christian folks would be responsible and I’d expect you to hunt these nuts...either put them six feet under and render them somewhere outside of civilization where they could do their stuff within their group.
I am reminded of a quote from Spiderman’s dad....”With great power, comes great responsibility”. The same is true of religion and your endorsement or craving for it....if you can’t handle the religion, then it’s not for you.
And while we’re at it, what’s with this thing (increasingly prevalent I might add) of leaving out the verb “to be” in expressing infinitives?
For example people will say (and write):
“This food needs cooked.”
“The house needs cleaned.”
“The dogs need walked.”
All of these things need *TO BE* cooked, cleaned or walked.
Or, they might need cooking, cleaning or walking.

Thus proclaiming moral equivalence between a tweet and the murder of thousands of people around the world.
A number of murders are committed by fundamentalist Christians each year. As by every other group. AFAIK, very, very few of them are claimed by the perpetrators to have been committed in the name of God.
Of that tiny group, few if any of accepted as legitimate by other "Christians."
Compare and contrast with Islam.
Islam as largely practiced today is the Muggle equivalent of the Death Eaters.
And I see no problem at all with Murdoch’s point. The obvious point of reference for me is the aftermath of Nazi Germany, in which all Germans were required to de-Nazify. Millions of perfectly innocent Germans were made to view the concentration camps.
That started as a Pittsburgh thing. It’s definitely spreading.
“I was born Christian.”
One is not ‘born’ Christian. You must accept Jesus Christ as your savior before you become Christian. If she truly was a Christian I don’t think she would be writing satanic books for children.
Useful idiot is correct.
During World War II many people expressed their opposition to the war. Their beliefs were heartfelt. They were wrong.
When I moved to northwestern Pennsylvania the omission of “to be” in conversation was glaring. Just last night I read a classified ad for someone selling something and right there, in print, it said “Needs gone” instead of “needs to be gone”.
I must admit I didn’t even know MTV still existed. Irrelevant asshat fools.
Hermione Granger would have been sold as a sex slave at 12,if the Muslims rule.
