sure.
Yanking on an opponent’s jersey must be legal now.
Looks like he trapped the other players hand with his face mask...
The game is over. Let it go.
They also missed a hold on Dallas. But of course the punchline is they lost the game because Caldwell didn’t go for it on the ensuing 4th and 1. They lacked the will to win, and lost.
Just finished Bill Polian’s new book.
He was on the NFL competition committee for many years.
He talks about how the league has changed pass defense policy several times back and forth over the years.
Of course in his view the Pats got away with murder vs the Colts over several playoff games.
It’s just a game. Get over it.
The NFL is dirty. Can’t be trusted.
God bless those refs and umpires, etc.
I can’t imagine trying to do that job, trying not to miss anything while its happening so fast. , split decisions, close calls, and all the while you have a universe of fans focusing on instant replay after the fact criticism. Damn if you do, damn if you don’t.
Getting tired of the judgment calls on hits. If it was a real game, these little bumps and jostles would be allowed. Make them try to catch under full duress. This would de-emphasize the long passing game, like it used to be.
If not, let’s be consistent and make the pushing-out-of-bounds after a catch illegal again (Antonio Brown vs Ravens)

Don’t come in here with your facts, figures, videos and get in the way of the LionTards with their conspiratorial excuses. GO COWBOYS!! /h
That was a difficult game to watch. I wanted BOTH teams to lose.
Cowboys won fair and square, but the flag should not have been picked up.
If anything, Hitchens grabbed his jersey for defensive holding, and Dez should have been flagged for Unsportsmanlike Conduct.
But I believe in the end, the calls eventually even out, and still there’s no guarantee Detroit even scores if the penalty is enforced. They still had plenty of time to take care of the game, and they didn’t.
OK OK. Yes, a Lions fan here.
The facemask CONTACT was deemed to be inconsequential by the league. Then there’s a shot of Pettigrew CLEARLY reaching out for the ball (both hands) with the defensive players hand on his shoulder as the ball approaches with NO attempt to look at the ball when he could. He ran over him, it would be PI all day every day all year in any other game. This is all after the defensive holding of course which should have come first.
Then let us not ignore Dez running onto the field (no helmet while his unit was off the field) which could, at ref discretion, be a unsportsmanlike penalty - of course that was ignored too, which usually wouldn’t have been.
All made worse by the flag being thrown, officially calling the penalty, moving the ball and then just taking it back with NO explanation. Unacceptable - I’ve NEVER seen that happen, neither can anybody else either. Sorry, everyone but Dallas fans seem to agree, including other officials, it was a blown call.
...then today, the NFL apologized for a blatant missed hold on the Dallas game winning drive - the 4th and 6 play to Witten. It should have been 4th and 16, probably ending that drive.
Enjoy your game at GB and good luck, just don’t expect us Lions fans to forget this anytime soon - you wouldn’t if the shoe were on the other foot. For many though, if the Cowboys win the SB, it’ll be tainted. I’ve seen posts from people all over the country, not Lions fans, they all agree it was crap.
Why aren’t they talking about the “running into the kicker” penalty against Dallas where it was clear the defender didn’t even touch the punter? He just fell down on top of the defender.
