Funny thing most people don’t notice, the gas gauge on nearly all cars has a little arrow showing the driver what side the cap is on.
This comes in handy when in a rental car.

My first thought, too.
Notice how she went inside the station and asked for directions to the pumps for the other side of the car.
I thought she was going to run out of gas.
The car I traded in two years ago had it on the driver’s side, but the car I drive now has it on the other side. Every once in a while, I forget and have to get out and look.
It’s happened to me when I had to fill up a rental car. But it took 20 seconds, not 5 minutes!

Costco installed longer hoses on their Gas Pumps so people can pull up on either side.

I knew if I watched it long enough, lol.
my mom is in her 70s and doesn’t know either. when she drives my car I have to repeatedly tell her what button to use to lower the driver window. She also just got an iphone after having a flip phone for decades. She has to be taught how to use it and often forgets it at home. It provides endless amount of amusement to see her 6 year old niece tutor her on how to use the iphone!
I worked at a gas station during the Summer when I was a kid.
The gas caps generally didn’t give me a problem but sometimes the hood latch was hard to find. Back then we used to check under the hood and also sweep out the front floor. That was before they began to put your feet in deep wells so you have to use a vacuum.
I remember one old Black guy came in and the oil was black as soot. I asked him if he ever changed it and he laughed and said “it changes itself.
