Aren’t jockeys notoriously small fellers? Seems like a bad plan to choose a strongarm type crime if you are so lightly built.

He should have used his size to his advantage, say by hiding in air ducts to burglarize stores or something. I remember there was one dwarf in a story I read that would hide in wastebaskets until the department store closed.

I thought Pro Jockeys got paid quite a bit, but apparently, not quite enough. Maybe he has a drug problem, where there is almost no stopping of the expense.

Jockeys are, almost by definition, small people, but they seem to be excellent athletes. (Try picturing yourself in that crouched position atop a RACEhorse. I get leg cramps just watching an occasional TV race.) Maybe this guy allowed his self image to lead him into trouble.
