Bill Cosby 'is paying private investigators six-figure fees to dig up dirt on rape accusers'

Bill Cosby has refused to address the scores of rape allegations that have been hurled at him in recent months, but that doesn't mean he isn't working to clear his name.

The comedian is allegedly paying private investigators six-figure fees to dig up dirt on the more than two dozen women who have come forward to accuse him of rape, according to a report in the New York Post.

A source told the paper that Cosby has hired a Glendale, California, firm to discredit his many alleged victims' stories.

Sociopaths have no problem beating polygraphs.
No conscience, a lifetime of lying, and no stress about it.

I’d be checking up on the bimbos too...not everyone that claims to be a victim actually IS a victim:

So let me get this straight. A woman can have sex with a man and then years later, declare it a rape?

Good point. These “rape” stories lack an ounce of credibility, yet the lynch mob was quick to move. The press has to sell its stories. I’ll let the legal system do its work first.

But unless evidence of his affairs proved incontrovertible, she simply preferred to turn a blind eye. To keep her marriage going, she had years ago devised a "don't ask, don't tell" approach.

When Slick complained that he didn't have enough time for himself in the afternoon, (you know those White House morning photo ops can leave a person really drained), Hillary re-arranged his schedule so that he had a few hours in the afternoon for himself.

Hillary didn't need to hear his bitching, she was busy running the country.

Then in walks Monica with a pizza and the rest is history.

Hillary knew about the affair. She had Bill's secretary keep tabs on all his activities.

So, when Hillary appeared to be in shock after the affair was exposed, she was faking. She thought she had it all under control but we done found out.

For most of these women, it’s long past the time when they could get any money from him. Most of them are coming forward despite that.

It won't be an interesting case for me. Too much time has passed for any of them to sound very credible. And after his P.I.s find whatever dirt they have (We all have some kind of dirt.) the cases will fade away.

Then come the books, T.V. interviews and Oprah Winfrey in for the kill. She always liked to bash men. I don't watch her anymore. Maybe she has changed. People do.

So many of the have opted to pay the person off rather than fight.

Many of them are advised to do so by their attorneys.

Evidently they don’t lack credibility, or Cosby would not only be receiving support as a man, from the people who know him best an industry that he was a giant in for 50 years, but he would have destroyed these women years ago, rather than settling and running.

The reason Cosby has no support, is that when people look at the many years of coverage of the claims, it is Cosby who lacks credibility.

Even his best friend, Hugh Hefner who would know his sexual perversions, won’t defend Cosby.

Cosby is not accused by one but by many.

He can;t be guilty he’s black!

NBC covered for their golden goose.

Mr. Huxtable is a rapist.

This is speculative, but...

The real story behind the story I think might be NBC big honcho liability. From his actions BC seems to have acted as if he had some degree of impunity, defined as exemption or freedom from punishment, harm, or loss.

So how does one obtain impunity if one is a private citizen? The answer I come up with is the promise and/or delivery of support from the executive level of a large corporation-- in BC's case, his long term employer, NBC. If I were filing a lawsuit against BC, I would make sure that it named John Does 1-99 as defendants (this is standard practice). Hopefully this would rattle a few cages at NBC, and one could then see what shakes out at any pre-discovery settlement talks. NBC has infinitely deep pockets (by comparison, Playboy/Hefner is chump change), so I would not be surprised if none of the lawsuits reaches the trial phase. The difference between then and now at the NBC executive level is that then, it was PR-wise imperative for NBC to be perceived as pro-black, while now, it is PR-wise imperative that NBC not be perceived as anti-woman (and this might also help explain why more women are coming out now than then).

Why thank you oh great exhausted one.

What most excellent reasoning. We shall endeavor to get your great advice used by the courts of this land forthwith.

Why this exemplary idea has never been considered before by the courts is beyond me.

They insist on these archaic devices called trials and evidence.

As soon as your idea is implemented, why we will soon be able to do away with such archaic and costly endeavors.

Henceforth we shall just declare guilt or innocence based on a porn hustlers pronouncements or lack thereof Hugh Hefner ... won’t defend Cosby

What a brilliant idea for implementing justice throughout the land. Truly you are an eminent legal scholar the likes of which the world has never seen before.

This sure has the feel of something that could snow ball and contaminate others.

The silence from Hollywood is deafening.

oh my, now we are appealing to freepers to convict a persons of a heinous crime because a 'republican DA felt that he was guilty'

What stellar legal reasoning.

Why didn't the rest of the legal world think of that.

Why with such a great legal mind, you should be elevated to the U.S. Supreme Court. We need such great thinkers on the bench.

You will be able to eliminate such mundane and costly events such as trials and evidence.

All we shall need in the future will be the 'feelings' of a 'republican DA'.

What a brilliant idea.

That old fashioned notion of requiring 'available, credible and admissible evidence' to convict someone of a heinous crime. Why we do not need that.

Did the Republican DA indict Cosby? No, he did not.

Did the Republican DA think he had 'available, credible and admissible evidence' in the case? No, he did not.

"Did I think that I could prove it beyond a reasonable doubt based on available, credible and admissible evidence? No, I didn't," {Bruce Castor} said."

In other words, a case so weak, that the DA knew he could not put his witness on the stand and get a conviction.

Oopie. Seems she waited a wee bit too long.

"
DA Declines to Charge Bill Cosby in Alleged 1974 Sex Assault at Playboy Mansion" Saying the statute of limitations had long ago expired on a woman's claim that Bill Cosby sexually assaulted her at the Playboy Mansion in 1974, the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office on Tuesday declined to file charges against the embattled comedian.

Which one was that? Huth?

the prosecutors said they were barred from charging Cosby "because it would serve to impermissibly 'revive' a previously time-barred prosecution, in violation of the ex post facto clause of the United States Constitution."

Remember that the first victim of the rape/sexual assault part of Cosby’s life to come forward, was working for NBC, and as an actress on his NBC TV series, “The Cosby show”, she filed a police report on the 1998 incident, in 2000.

Like the rest of the people who know Bill Cosby, NBC has been silent haven’t they?

How will Cosby’s NBC bag man fit into this?

It brings to mind what defenses in law a man has against notorious women bringing false allegations against them ten, twenty, thirty or even forty years later.

Who were you alone with forty years ago?

Do you have any witnesses from that time that you did not ‘rape’ that person?

Did you have ‘ansel12’ sitting by your bed the entire time taking notes?

Well, Damn Ansel, we don’t need trials, do we?

With people like you we don’t even need lawyers.

Get the rope, the case is closed!

I don’t want to point out how nuts you sound, but don’t you think that is a weird overreaction to a post on a discussion forum pointing out that Bill Cosby obviously has little credibility, and that the majority of the more than two dozen women, do?

As far as case closed, the 2004 rape case is closed and settled to the benefit of the victim saying that he drugged and raped her, now there are only a couple of dozen more from various states, various cities, various decades, from women ranging in age from 24 to their 70s, to go.

Thing that is most telling is how he’s not had one associate, work colleague, or friend come out and tell the world that he’s this great guy and how he’s never done anything so nefarious, or that he ever would. Not one single defender.

There are criminal courts and there are civil courts.

The DA was addressing the criminal statute of limitations, and to his option to charge BC criminally with respect to allegations raised by Huth.

To my understanding, the DA has nothing directly to do with civil lawsuits, unless new evidence of criminal acts are uncovered evidence presented in civil lawsuit trials.

If you are inferring that innocence of criminal charges confers immunity from civil liability, I suggest you check out OJ Simpson. OJ was found not guilty in criminal court in 1995, and found liable in civil court in 1997.

There is also the case of Constand v Cosby, which was settled with prejudice in civil court after the local DA in that situation declined to prosecute in criminal court.

You know what?

I have a friend who was taken advantage of by a teacher of mine, my high school senior language arts teacher. She and he had sex numerous times and then she stalked him. He was underage and he had huge damage by the time he graduated and she stalked him long after. Then he had to go through therapy after becoming sexually promiscuous as a result of the abuse.

So yes, it does happen and men are often afraid to tell because as men they’re often pressured to be ‘studs.’

They often never went public because of the pressure and the resources that Cosby had.

“They DON’T go for help. They could but they don’t. Who knows. “

Learned helplessness and often it’s a refusal to take control of their own lives.
