Bill Cosby was a rat who stalked prey in his own pack, a former girlfriend of Sammy Davis Jr. says.
Katherine McKee alleges Cosby raped her in a Michigan hotel room in the early 1970s when she was on tour with Davis.
She joins more than 20 other women who have accused the comedian known as Americas Dad of sexual assault.

>> Trial by media has always been a real and present danger in our legal system
Exactly.
The extents of this crime are quickly reaching almost mythic proportions. I really doubt if we’ll be having this same conversation much longer. Something has got to give. Either Cosby goes further into retreat, or comes out fighting on the talk show circuit. I expect before March 27, a few weeks away, we will be into a new phase of this drama.
Whatever the outcome and the placement of guilt, I feel sorry for his adult children, unless, that is, these children have been somehow complicit in any criminal acts. That includes passively allowing someone to walk into a harmful situation. Even if Cosby is guilty of these charges, as I suspect he is, I think he is so addicted to the constant attention of an audience, any audience, at any price, that he will eventually confess. It may take two or three years for him to reach this point, where he realizes honesty and candor are his only remaining allies. Otherwise he will be dropped like a hot potato and will remain forever dropped from the general conversation.
And by the way, to the both of you, I know you are terrific FReepers and I’ve long admired your posts. On these threads I have just been trying to assert my opinion that we have a legal system which is supposed to function for you and me and celebrities alike. In today’s climate, I can grab myself a lawyer and have him draw up papers that Yaelle interfered with my livelihood by stealing my best fishing spot, and grab a reporter I know to let her know I’ve filed suit and spill my (fish) guts to her about how I’m suffering. Similarly, I can get my same beleaguered attorney to file suit against Ansel12 because back in 1988, Ansel crashed into me at a July 4th party and now I have this ... This neck pain ... I’m sure it resulted from that.
All well and good. I’ve filed suit, and I know some media people who can get the stories out. Suddenly Yaelle and Ansel12 are fending off those pretty much idiotic reporters from my local paper. “DID you bump into JennysCool in 1988? Can you prove you didn’t?”
These Cosby accusations, of course, are MUCH more serious, but I hope you see what I’m getting at. Ansel12 needs a day in court to have a say about that day in 1988. Maybe it was all MY fault. Right now, just from the media huzzah, everyone thinks Ansel12 is a SERIOUS neck-assaulter. And that Yaelle? A total THIEF of fishing spots.
So where do we all go? Court. Not the papers, not the TV, and we figure it out there where Yaelle’s attorney can blow my case to smithereens (”Jennyscool, isn’t it true you were never even NEAR that fishing spot, because you have a pathological fear of water? AND fish?”) Similarly, cross-examination reveals that Yaelle could NOT have inflicted my injury in 1988 because Free Republic did not exist then which means we had never even SEEN each other.
My lawsuits have failed. I go on my way. Filing suit against Lazamataz the next day for contributing to my delinquency.
Getting serious a moment. My whole point here is that the media is never the place to argue guilt or innocence. We have courts for that. Giving TMZ or Yahoo or, hell, the New York Times the power of deciding the fate of someone — even someone you know is guilty! guilty! guilty! — completely ignores the whole legal system we have nurtured through the centuries. Media justice is FAST, and that suits our impatience for justice (”He held up his hands and said don’t shoot!”). But that simply isn’t the way we do things around here.
If Bill Cosby is a serial rapist, arrest him, prosecute him, let him be represented by counsel, and let the facts be decided in an actual court of law. That is his right as an American, and is also the right of his accusers.
Whoopi Goldberg and TMZ should have no say in how this case, or any case, goes.
Whoopi is a bit of a weird person to be in the mix, remember her talk about “rape-rape” and Mr. Polanski?
Intelligent people would filter Whoopi out. She is an entertaining noise box.
Yeah. Forgot that Polanski thing.
I have no clue whether Cosby is guilty or not - however, I keep thinking about CeeLo Green, who was accused of the same thing. He apparently, gave the girl ecstasy. He has dropped off the face of the earth since this story broke. Look at Michael Jackson. No one will ever convince me he wasn’t a pedophile. In this case, I blame the parents who allowed their kids to stay overnight with him. Some people are addicted to celebrities, and will do anything to “rub” elbows with the rich and famous - and the rich and famous take advantage of their position. It’s sickening, actually.
The accusations characterize the utmost depravity. The frequency reinforces the likelihood of truth. But ultimately, the process through which we all expect our individual justice must remain the mechanism that determines another’s guilt or innocence.
“limitations has run out on all but the girl who was under age in California”
I am not very familiar with the California Statutes, but the Oregon Statutes say that there is no statute of limitation on person crimes, and that seven years is only used as a “rule of thumb”. The Cos could theoretically be prosecuted for any person crime he committed in Oregon all the way back to Adam & Eve. I wonder if other states have similar statutes? California?
But most people were able to make up their minds. You were not, I suppose.
If I had been able to “make up my mind” from what the media fed me, I’d have thought Trayvon was just going to the store for candy when he was assaulted and Michael Brown was on his knees with his hands up saying “Don’t shoot!”
Wow, you’re reading different sources than I am. Most of us at FR made upour minds differently.
Get real.
Why do you think no one who knew Cosby for the last 50 years is defending him?
And how do you compare almost 30 women from different cities and states, and ranging from their 20s to their 70s making claims of his rapes and sexual assaults over a 5 decade period, and multiple police reports and an out of court settlement, with your silly claims that you can just accuse me of something?
Can’t understand that we decide things like this in the courts, not the media? Seems little point going on. Well, shrug, carry on. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Cosby is apparently a sociopathic/serial rapist...and now he is toast.
You really ought not to be correcting people until you master capitalization and punctuation.
“You are not allowed to state your opinion on something that was never proven in a court of law”
That was a stupid statement.
“and you should not be saying that because there was no evidence of it!”
If you are talking about perjury, there was plenty of evidence of Clontoon guilt.
He just wanted some of that candy man.
