Thank you. I’ll consider this program when I look to donate.
I have some friends who are seriously involved in veterans charities. They do not recommend WWP and I stopped giving to them some years ago. The top people are very highly compensated and enjoy many other perks that are written off as “charitable” expenses. They a few “show dogs”, provide them with very good services, but require them to sign non disclosure statements so that no one will every know what is really going on.
They are liberals, marketing their scam at veterans expense. Look for organizations founded by, and run by veterans and service linked organizations who return almost all of their donations to the intended beneficiaries.
WWP has a very high percentage of their donations funneled to ‘administrative and overhead expenses’ and is not a good choice for effective charity anyway. Seek alternate routes.
Helpful thread — thanks. Leftists are always capitalizing on the suffering of others.
Written a letter to CEO of WWP and asked for their annual report. I wanted to find out how much of every dollar I contribute goes to the wounded warriors.
Never received a response to my inquiry.
They did send me a membership card of their organization, which ended up in the trashcan.
:(
>To make matters worse, they also sold my name to other veterans organizations who now also market the hell out of me.<
.
I started to contribute to a small number of charities some 15 years ago and presently my mail consists of 90% of unsolicited requests for contributions.
And then there are the many telephone calls. Luckily I have phone caller ID.
I’m assuming you donated to the organization? If you did, you still did the right thing by offering to help others. The old woman put her last two coppers in the pot not knowing where they were going, either to help those with nothing or to line the pockets of those in charge.
All the money we have poured down rat holes over the years but buying a wheelchair for a guy who was paralyzed while serving in war? No money for that!

$375,000 salary to executive director - that’s when I got turned off from sending donations.
“”The old woman put her last two coppers in the pot not knowing where they were going, either to help those with nothing or to line the pockets of those in charge””
Our 5 year old grandson last year went home from Christian preschool and told his mother that he had to have some money to take to school. She asked him why and the most he could say was “the woman needs it.” He was adamant and unable to explain why. She gave him some coins for the next day and asked the administrator why he was set on taking money to school and she told her that they had been told the story about the lady and her last mite. She told our grandson she’d put it in the collection plate.
“”People get on Gates because of his out of country support etc but dont forget a while back he was willing to work with officials to put computers in EVERY school - eventually got turned down, one of the reasons given it would give him an unfair advantage to train people on his equipment....””
So the creep decided to promote Common Core. Super!
I recall that 30% of donations go right to the fundraiser. I can check this but my impression is that their commercials are a facade for a scam.
Not only are the endless ads sad and pathetic, they’re repulsive. Indeed, they’re excellent advertising for video recorders so they can be zapped.
Very. They run from the opportunity to advertise in/at anything involving firearms. Tom Gresham interviewed a WWP exec on his radio show a while back. The weasel language was incredible.
Thanks for posting that link. We stopped giving to Wounded Warrior Project two years ago. We now give to Fisher House which has a much better rating.
Maybe Bill O'Reilly, a big donor to WWP, should do some investigating and report back to us...but don't hold your breath.
