Looks like DISH just axed the FOX News Channel.
Liberals everywhere are probably ecstatic.
I saw the logo and hear the crazy annoying music. They've been threatening on the air for days .. . so I guess it happened tonight at close to 11:00 p.m. Central Time.
I tried Dish for awhile - and I liked it - but it would start raining every time I *really* wanted to watch something and the signal would drop.
If they could boost the signal to make it able to reliably penetrate your average southeastern thunderstorm, I’d consider them again.
As for FOX cable news? I haven’t really watched them on purpose in a long time. Bret Baier is the only one I can stomach. Still, Bill O’Reilly was obnoxious enough all by his self to turn me away from the channel entirely...
My sister lives right on the Arlington-GP line. I think she has ATT U-verse???
I usually keep FOX on during the day just for background noise . . . but I do enjoy Special Report with Brett over the other channels and a few other things.
Actually I’d be happy to drop DISH and not have cable. Hate paying almost 100.00 a month. I could get my news online, here and other places too. But DH and my son would go through withdrawal without all their sports channels.
I believe that it’s too late in his case.
I live on the north side of town, near I-30. I even pass by the central office (it’s on Small St near US-80). A source who works for SWB confirmed that the CO has a 1A switch. It’s electronic (this is why it’s still around), but switches an analogue signal.
He’s got nothing to do with it. This is a standard rights fee dispute. Every year one of the major carriers and one of the networks get in this pissing contest where the network wants more money than the carrier is willing to pay to the point where the contract ends and the network is taken off the carrier. Then the customers bitch and moan and the carrier caves in. 2 years ago my carrier (Cox) got into this with CBS during the NFL playoffs, unfortunately for Cox they had a preplanned rate hike that went into effect 3 days into the CBS blackout, you should have seen their Facebook page. These arguments happen all the time, and the carrier always loses, and the network always gets the money they want, usually it lasts less than a week, A&E and DirecTV got in one that lasted months though.
She a wee bit further north . . . around Avenue K & 360 off of it. Good ole Highway 80 . . . I remember use to getting caught in the train traffic near the Six Flags Mall and Southwest Pkwy! I still return to visit but live hundreds of miles away.
FOX news back on DISH network. (Must have happened in the last 24 hours?)..
