Militants fighting for the Islamic State in Iraq have unveiled their latest terror tactic - bombs containing hundreds of live scorpions designed to spread fear among their enemies. Canisters packed with poisonous varieties of scorpion are being blasted into towns and villages, which explode on impact - scattering the scorpions and causing panic among the innocent local population.

To the writers of the article, it’s venomous, not poisonous and thanks to the fear mongering of the media about exotic pets, this tactic will be at least decently effective to the uneducated, ignorant public.
If people learned and educated themselves about things like scorpions, spiders, snakes, etc.... this wouldn’t be an issue. Sadly, people are cowards and fear just about everything now days.

Ooh! Pieces of dead scorpions all over the place!
Gimme a break: what a worthless weapon.

When is ISIS going to start catapulting plague victims? Or injecting "volunteers" with ebola or (if they can get it) smallpox and flying them here. But we don't need quarantines. No, no, no. Bad things will happen if we try to do that. I haven't quite figured out what that is, but it will be bad if we close the border to disease.

Yep, first thoughts here as well...
Maybe they should use dogs with bees that come out of their mouths when they bark...

The “bad thing” that happens when you prevent your population from being infected with a third world killer plague
is that your population isn’t “forced to care” about other countries with a third world plague.

Ah! The article explains the ancient technique. Scorpion bombs are covered clay pots containing live scorpions. They are placed in the area of the attack. The “bomb” occurs when an unsuspecting person comes along and opens the pot. Out pop the mad scorpions ready to bite the closest human in retaliation for their imprisonment. :-/

IF they were really serious they’d use pork instead of scorpions.

Indeed, those scorpions might be alive when they are put into the shells, but I don't see them surviving the trip.
This is what passes for a good idea, when you have a group of goat cuddlers that don't have a clue physics is.

We should do that to ISIS. It guarantees they do not get their virgins and after they whine about it, we up the effort.
