noun, plural qualia [kwah-lee-uh, kwey-] 1: a property (as redness) considered apart from things having the property : universal 2: a property as it is experienced as distinct from any source it might have in a physical object Qualia is a term used in philosophy to refer to individual instances of subjective, conscious experience. The term derives from the Latin adverb quālis (Latin pronunciation: [ˈkwaːlis]) meaning "what sort" or "what kind". Examples of qualia are the pain of a headache, the taste of wine, or the perceived redness of an evening sky.
Daniel Dennett (b. 1942), American philosopher and cognitive scientist, writes that qualia is "an unfamiliar term for something that could not be more familiar to each of us: the ways things seem to us."[1]
Erwin Schrödinger (1887–1961), the famous physicist, had this counter-materialist take:
The sensation of color cannot be accounted for by the physicist's objective picture of light-waves. The importance of qualia as a concept in the philosophy of mind comes largely from the fact that it is seen as posing a fundamental problem for materialist explanations of the mind-body problem. Much of the debate over their importance hinges on the definition of the term that is used, as various philosophers emphasize or deny the existence of certain features of qualia. As such, the nature and existence of qualia are controversial

we had our clay shooting bday party on Sat for xshub and then yesterday was our Christmas open house where I had probably 50 people in my house. We invited all those we normally invite and maybe a few extra, but we had only 2 families decline, so it was a house full, far more than we normally have. I have leftovers but not a ton. I had a beef tenderloin, lasagna, sweet and sour meatballs, chicken/stuffing casserole, Whyisa’s bean dip, spinach artichoke dip, kielbasa in honey, buffalo chicken for sandwiches, assorted other dips, fruit salad, veg and dip, spiced shrimp, Apple pie, pecan pie, Christmas cookies and a bday cake for xshub. All homemade, my me, except for the bday cake. I ate next to nothing, bc I had no time to eat during the party, and by the time the party was over the stuff I could eat was gone [the shrimp and the marinated brussel sprouts] I had some of the tenderloin and some of the raw vegs.
There was a kid in my highschool class named Bob White, who would do that to their kid? A+++
