It is miles away from the Bible story. I hate that I just gave Hollyweird a reward of my hard earned money for producing this garbage. Please, please, learn from my mistake.
If the movie holds my attention and it is entertaining, I don’t care about any of the rest of it. I’m retired and live in the country. When I have to go to the big city for medical appointments or to run errands, I almost always go see a movie while I am in town. And I enjoy almost all of them. I don’t read reviews or listen to critics. I don’t care about their opinions. I just want to sit for a couple of hours, eat some popcorn and be entertained. It is make-believe after all.
Its not entertainment, its propaganda. They have an agenda and their movies are accurate to their agenda.
Noah was some horrible nightmare of a film.
The costuming and sets made no sense.
Bizarro dark world....
I don't go to a movie based on what others think. Because there are a lot of people out there with their own agendas, conspiracy theories or narrow-mindedness. Doesn't interest me.
Good point......
I prefer not to give my money to people who hate Christ, my savior.
The only reason they made this movie was to show off special effects and the Exodus story gave them a great opportunity. Thus they are using the Bible to make money for an incredible event they believe to be fantasy.
On the other hand, I like movies. Always have. I go to a lot of them, sometimes a couple a week. I'll go see this movie because it looks good. It has nothing to do with political, financial or religious factors. It has to do with the fact that I like movies.
Thanks for taking one for the team. It had “suckage” written all over it, but I’m glad someone confirmed that.
Yes. It’s one of the most disturbing things about the movie.
Basically, it doesn’t follow the original story. I understand creative license but this movie runs off the track in places where it doesn’t need to. I know the story and can see where there are places where creative license can be taken, but this movie ignores the places in the story where it’s very clear how it should go. One example: when Moses is on the mountain when he sees the burning bush - in this movie he gets buried in mud up to his neck close to the bush. The Bible story clearly states that Moses is asked to take off his sandals because he is on holy ground - not in this movie, that is never mentioned.
Saw an advance screening and walked out. Moses and the Jews are portrayed as terrorist insurgents. Moses himself is Godless. “God” is portrayed as a vengeful, blood thirsty child, and the Egyptians are portrayed sympathetically — you actually are pushed to the verge of tears at their suffering, and Scott tries to make you HATE the Jews. It is disgusting. I see Glenn Beck posted his own disgust on FB from inside the theater. STAY AWAY!
I can’t believe what you and a few other posters on this thread have posted, you could care less if a Biblical movie corrupts people’s minds or not. Your mistake is seeing no difference between a movie about the Bible and movies about everything else.
The word of God, in this case the book of Exodus, is not for your entertainment, sir. It is to “make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus,” 2 Tim. 3:15.
Exodus with other Old Testament books, give the history of Israel, a special people chosen of God, Not an end unto itself, but a history that lead us ultimately to Christ Jesus the savior. Without which you are eternally lost.
It doesn’t matter to you if these movie makers corrupt that all important historical link to Christ, the book of Exodus?
As for myself, I haven’t seen the movie, nor will I, after reading the comments made here and elsewhere about it. .
I don't conduct my daily life by only doing what others tell me to do, you included. If that is how you operate, more power to you. I choose to make up my own mind.
Hm, why couldn't it be used as a hook into evangelization? Take someone who shows a little interest then after the movie see if they'd be up for a little bible-study to compare/contrast the movie with the Bible.

Yes, and this is why religious-people should take advantage of secular interest to show and share Jesus.
Well, good for you but I am not interested in getting preached at on a news forum on FR. Discuss that of the religious forums. You have your beliefs and I have mine and they don’t appear to agree with each other.
Good for you.same for me.
It’s really just entertainment.
If the Sony gaffe has taught us anything, it reminds us that moviemaking is a business. It’t not the big “agenda making” machine that some Freepers would have you believe.
I also found it refreshing to read the other day why Hollywood REALLY doesn’t make movies starring a lot of black people. Again, it was no conspiracy,... But they don’t sell as well. Movies are made for thecworldmarket these days and the one off black movie loses money.
Anyway, enjoy.
Thanks. From your comment, you seem to be the only sane one on this thread tonight. Many others seems to be werewolves, vampires or zombies, the way they are carrying on. I get tired of it.
I haven’t sat in a theater in years. If a movie stinks, I like to turn it off and switch to something else without rewarding the same idiots that turned out the stinker with even more money.
I also can’t stand sharing a moving with a bunch of people on cell phones, crying babies, and obnoxious teenagers.
And I am not so easily amused that any garbage will hold my attention. I don’t have TV because it is a bunch of boring, repetitive junk that is so painful to watch the only way they can attract an audience is by turning it into pseudo-porn with sick, perverted stories that must have come from the mind of an antisocial 13 year old.
If they were smart, they would stick with the stories that have captivated imaginations for thousands of years rather than apply the same lack of intelligence and creativity they use for everything else.
The actual stories of the Exodus and Noah are noble and inspiring. If they want to create mindless tripe, the least they can do is come up with their own own title.
