This makes me LOL.

This company bribes government officials to circumvent the legal system and they get hammered hard by the hackers.

I call it karma!

Disney execs are watching these developments with keen interests amongst others, I’m sure. Imagine the perversions that will be revealed when their closet is emptied before the entire world.

Film studios are leftist breeding grounds. Couldn’t happen to nicer folks.

As with the president and AG focusing on two - count them - two deceased persons in a nation of 320+ million, the government will now lavish attention and untold expenditures on a single company.

I’ve seen more than one post elsewhere that Sony were advised time and again to improve their IT setup and that it failed to meet even a minimal standard of security. They also did the trendy corporate thing of eliminating IT as a division and hiring in contractors with the usual diffusion of responsibility and, as demonstrated here, no accountability.

It’s literally a peek behind the curtain and while I tend to condemn conspiracy types, the hypocrisy and cynicism that we’ve seen to date is as bad or worse than most could have imagined.

What I loved best about this entire ordeal was the “damning”, confidential e-mails that were exposed; like Sony execs saying Angelina Joline had no freakin’ talent. LOL... Ya gotta love it.

It's particularly amusing that North Korea of all places could give Sony and its executives the Christmas present it probably deserves.

Forget that, these two execs Amy Pascal and Scott Rudin are big Democrat donors and here they are spewing racist crap back and forth which of course will be completely brushed under the rug in a day or two and the media will go right back to promoting phantom racism by the right.

So we have a pattern of Institutional Racism and Illegal Activities, where is Attorney General Kamala Harris?? Is she investigating this RACIST Company?? Has the Secretary of State revoked their Corporate Status for Institutional Racism?? Why Not?

They could take a small hit that while infuriating North Korea, would take away the incentive to hack them further.

The Interview’s budget was $44 million, making it a mid-range budget movie. Sony could write it off easily, by making the movie public domain. They could slash the amount of money in the write off by doing it after the opening weekend.

Scheduled to open Christmas Day, a seven day run would likely knock down their loss even to zero, given all its free publicity. Sony might even make some money on the deal. And if they wrote off the movie on Dec 31st, they would get the write off on their 2014 taxes.

That aside, it shows the power of the hackers and the vulnerability of a company when targeted by them.

This is an example of targeting is a very, very big way.

Jolie made her screen debut as a child alongside her father, Jon Voight, in Lookin' to Get Out (1982). Her film career began in earnest a decade later with the low-budget production Cyborg 2 (1993). Her first leading role in a major film was in the cyber-thriller Hackers (1995).

There is some irony for you.

>>I call it karma!

Unfortunately its effects will be felt most directly by the thousands of craftsmen whose names roll over the big screen at the end of the show - and their families, and their communities.

Regardless of the intent, this kind of vigilante cyber terrorism is not moral or just - and will only serve to ratchet up governmental control over cyberia.

Everybody knows what’s in room 101, and who really wrote Goldstein’s book...
