Michael Sam believes he's not on a NFL roster because of the fact he's openly gay -- telling TMZ Sports he strongly believes he's got the talent to play in the league.
Sam was at LAX this morning when he was asked if he thinks NFL teams are shying away from him because of his sexual orientation ... or if it has to do with the level of talent he faced after college.
"I think I was the SEC Defensive Player of the Year last year ... so I don't think it had to do with talent."

No, it is because you suck!
LOL
He didn't make the cut in Camp.
He said the Pros is whole different world than college and he was not ready.
He stayed in contact with the team, spent the rest of the year training and weight lifting like demon and was invited back and made the team second time around.
Sams could keep his arrogant and entitled additude to himself, keep his mouth shut, actaully work hard training for a year and re try out next season Because of the media attention and politcal pressure at least one team would be sure give him a chance, but thats not Sams' style.
Sams does not really want to earn a spot on an NFL team, he wants to use his gay status as a weapon to force the NFL to put him on roster, which is the reason the lazy jerk will never play a down in the NFL. This guy is the Tonya Harding of football. Scratch that, Harding was actually a very talented skater who the necessary skill and drive and who worked her way to the top. She had Gold Medal skills, but she just didn't have the self confidence that she could beat her one rival in a fair contest.
Sams simply does not have what it takes to play in the NFL. All Sams has is a big ego and a willingness to run his mouth.
I was wondering how long it would take for him to play the homo card.
The lawsuit will be the next step...all part of the plan.
It’s called “homo privilege”.
“He will only be able to have instant, anonymous, oral sex with 3 complete strangers in a public toilet tonight.”
He could always run for governor of New Jersey.
“[DEMOCRAT]Jim McGreevey shockingly admits that before he became governor of New Jersey, hed have anonymous gay sex at Garden State highway rest stops. All I knew was that my behavior was getting crazier and crazier, McGreevey says of his torrid truck-stop trysts in an upcoming book that details his tortured life of lies and sexual repression. With each newencounter, I was getting nearer and nearer to being caught which surely would have generated headlines, especially after I became executive director of the state parole board in the mid-1980s. The closet starves a man, and when he gets a chance he gorges till it sickens him, he writes in his book, titled The Confession.

Michael Sam - a future Hall of Flamer!
the only reason he was drafted was because he was gay! There are a lot of players that did well in college that did not make it in the NFL. His combines were not that good and a lot of the scouts did not think he would even be drafted. In my opinion he came out knowing it might help him get drafted.
LOL!
He will be a Hall of Famer but in this one. The actual sporting achievements is not a barrier as Jason Collins made it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Gay_and_Lesbian_Sports_Hall_of_Fame
He only got a shot, two actually, with NFL teams because he came out as gay and provided a point scoring opportunity. He was far too slow to play in the NFL, shown at the combine and proven on the field.
you left out Matt Lineart... He won the Heisman and got like about $7 million from Arizona and he sucked....
He could be in the NFL, as a boy cheerleader.
“He said the Pros is whole different world than college and he was not ready.”
I don’t personally know anyone who played in the pros but I do agree with you you said. Over the years, I have heard a number of really really good college players never make it in the pros. They said the same thing - that it was a much different world than they thought.
How long before Holder gets involved?
Maybe just a position change? Tight end, perhaps the bottom?
Center?
Wide receiver?

Ugh. I, uh, nevermind.
Or because your combine performance was terrible, and you didn’t make the cut this summer with what is clearly a socially liberal organization (the Rams, now fine with hands up, don’t shoot theatrics).
