FERGUSON, Mo. (KMOV.com) -- This St. Louis womans picture and story has spread through social media, shes now ready to talk about what happened to her shortly after the grand jury announcement was made in the death of Michael Brown.
Dornella Conners is now blind in her left eye and can hardly see out of her right eye after her and her boyfriend, DeAngelas Lee, stopped at a gas station in the 10000 block of Halls Ferry in north St. Louis County early Tuesday morning. Conners says as she and her boyfriend were driving away from the station multiple police officers showed up.
They pulled up while we were coming towards the street, DeAnglas was trying to get away, they blocked us from the side, front and back, Conners said.
Conners says her boyfriend was trying to drive around St. Louis County Police but police say he drove towards them. Police say the officer, fearing for his safety, used his less lethal bean bag round, striking the front passenger window causing it to shatter.
Conner went to another police officer who helped her get medical attention.
Im very upset, very disappointed with tactics that they used trying to get control of situation, said Donnell Conners, Dornellas father. I understand tough job, I understand that it was chaos, there was no reason to fire upon innocent person sitting in a vehicle.
Police say Lee drove away but he was not the only one causing trouble at the gas station. Sixteen people were arrested on the lot and police say they still do not know who is responsible for firing numerous gunshots at the location.
Police say they have issued a warrant for Lees arrest and set a bond for $50,000.
He deserved it because of racism.
Blacks and other Democrats don’t like police. Maybe it’s time to give the people of Ferguson a choice: cops or no cops.
If the choice is not to have police in the community, insurers, EMS, banks, delivery services, etc., need to be notified. Then, I’d let nature take its course. My guess is that on a few years either police will be asked to come back or the place will be empty, ready for the bulldozer to clear the rubble and make way for a fresh start.
No doubt the station was closed...No doubt the 16 arrested were looting the station...
And this couple pulls into the station to what??? Buy gas??? Get some fried chicken???
“D’Anglas [spelled De’Angelas 2 sentences above] was trying to get away...”
By her own account, her companion was fleeing from police as they cordonned off a mob scene during an extended riot, yet she is surprised they used force to stop his vehicle? What fills the space inside these peoples’ heads?
It's all fun and games, until someone loses an eye.
They got the day off. After all they work for the government.
“If you put yourself in harms way, dont be surprised if their is some harm.”
So basic, yet so often ignored.
I guess, but her left side did not look too badly hurt, that is why I asked.

Well, yes she’ll most likely lawyer up to “get the compensation you deserve” (as the lawyer commercials all say). And the city will likely settle to avoid the probable higher costs of going through a trial (which the city would likely win).
If Bonnie (of Bonnie and Clyde notoriety) was around today, she could likely sue any municipality injuring her and end up accepting a settlement. That’s what we’ve come to ... folk’s life dream being nothing more than to hit the lawsuit lottery.
So a criminal thug and his girl at a looting are trying to escape. Tough luck, One Eye. Fool.
I don't care if I'm accused of racism, sexism or whatever, but I just can't get into any article written by a functional illiterate, even if it purports to be news...
Ain’t nobody got time to find their eyeball.
Worse.
Back in the mid 70s, I was watching coverage of school teachers striking in Chicago, the interviewer asked one of the picketers, "what do you do at the school"?
I'm not making this up, she replied, "I teaches English".
Heaven help us.
I think it was a pepper round into the eye socket. Cop should have been aiming much lower.
