An elderly man was run over after two people stole his car in Ferguson during Monday night’s disturbances. The aftermath of the incident was captured by a St. Louis news crew and shows the chaotic scene in the parking lot of Faraci Pizza. The victim is shown lying face down on the pavement with his oxygen tank beside him.

When I hear it claimed, and it often is, that race relations have improved in the USA over the years, I just reach for the Maker’s Mark and ice cubes.

As someone who still remembers the days of segregation, George and Lurleen Wallace, JFK’s order for desegregation of the Roll Tide institution, I know that the racial divide in this country will last forever.
