And in the latest allegation, an NBC television veteran who described himself as Cosby’s “fixer” with the network described how young women from a modelling agency were sent to the star’s dressing room.
Frank Scotti told the New York Daily News that he helped Cosby funnel thousands of dollars to the women and would stand guard outside the door during The Cosby Show’s run from 1984-92.
He claimed that Cosby would house those of whom he was particularly fond in apartments and give them up to $2,000 per month.
Most aspired to a career in the entertainment industry and were either too fearful or intimidated to tell their stories, convinced they would not be believed if they did come forward with accusations against a man with an apparently untouchable standing.
They were young women like Joan Tarshis, who was aged 19 and starting out as a comedy writer when she met Cosby on set in Los Angeles 1969. He gave her the nickname Midget – she was 5'3'' - and invited her to his bungalow to discuss a new writing project. There she passed out after he wooed her with drinks, apparently spiked, and when she came round, he sexually assaulted her on the sofa.
In an interview with The Telegraph, she explained the sense of powerlessness and intimidation that kept her quiet for decades. "I just felt that I was a little girl whose word no one would ever believe against one of the nation's most popular performers," said Ms Tarshis, who later worked as a publicist for Bob Marley.

I don’t pity these women. WTH does a young girl expect going to the “dressing room” of a famous, horny, moron?

I am so tired of FReepers blaming victims. If it were your daughters you would not feel this way. Aware young women would at least expect that if Mr. BILL COSBY tried to hit on them, that they would have a say in it. With his reputation, girls would expect a modicum of humanity.
And naive women would say, oh, this is totally safe. He is Bill Cosby, he wouldn’t try anything. He has a guy right outside his trailer so I could just yell.
NO ONE EXPECTED THE ROOFIES.
Cosby is still firmly planted on the Plantation.
Why did they allow these kids to be alone in a room with this man?
Got news for you. Teens are alone with adults all the time. After class. After practice. In the principal’s office. With the church youth director. And in all of these situations, kids have been sexually taken advantage of. It is customary on a call back in the industry for the teen to talk alone to the agent / producer / casting director for at least some of the interview, to get her away from parental influence.
Sending your kid to Hollywood is child abuse.
Better to blame the victims than that towering icon of conservatism, Bill Cosby! /s
