I’m mainly demonstrating what states are capable of via a ‘multi-subject’ amendment. Legislators even at the state level might prefer a stronger central government, and the final checks-and-balances can temporize to reflect that.
Support is largely cautious, but still enthusiastic.
I had deliberatly posted it in anticipation of congressional impotence. Sure enough, there was impotence. And now with Christmas season coming up, I’m refining ‘Under God’ amendment ideas.
Here’s one secret response I received:
“Good list that has the potential to counter executive overreach. Regarding State Empowerment that could repeal executive orders, several states already are ignoring federal laws that they object to so there is plenty of precedent for this. Think sanctuary cities and other laws that are openly ignored by states and local jurisdictions.”
