An unexplained, polio-like illness has now affected 75 children across the country, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

The first cases were reported in August in Colorado, around the same time that children began going to the emergency room with breathing problems related to enterovirus D68, according to the CDC. The CDC reports 1,116 cases of the enterovirus in 47 states and Washington, D.C., in recent months, almost all in children. Twelve children with the virus have died.

I’m just curious. Does this virus just affect white kids? What I have seen, from the little bit of press coverage this has been getting, is all white kids dying or crippled. Something is not right here.

The CDC has been ORDERED not to make any correlation.

They can explain how they were 'just following orders' at the hearings.

It’s going to be left to an organization like Judicial Watch to get the CDC heads to testify and say on the record where this disease has originated. (Apparently there are genetic markers that easily tie it to Honduras.) No one else has the backbone to do it.

Is big pharma working on a vaccine or cure?

If everything goes well, it will take around 10 years to develop and bring to market a vaccine for this. Vaccine and drug development is a very complicated and time-consuming process.

Most of the early vaccine development efforts are conducted at universities, using grants from the federal government. Small biotech companies, using investor funding, also develop vaccines. Big pharma usually takes over these efforts later, when they are ready to be tested in humans. Most drug and vaccine candidates fail during human testing.
