Is Jonathan Gruber One of the Architects of Obama's Executive Orders Amnesty?
Self | November 13, 2014 | PJ-Comix

Posted on 11/13/2014 6:21:38 AM PST by PJ-Comix

It started out as a joke this morning. I often listen to the Steve Kane talk radio show here in South Florida. Kane's co-host on the show is Brian Craig and I often text message jokes or humorous observations to him while the show is on the air. Since they were talking about Jonathan Gruber and later about Obama's ILLEGAL executive order on the illegals I sent him a joking observation: "Was Jonathan Gruber the architect of the executive order amnesty plan?"

Well, a few moments after sending that message to Brian, I got to thinking if it could actually be true. After all Gruber has done a lot of consulting work for the Obama Administration so I put the following terms into Google and limited the search from the middle of 2010 until mid June of this year to avoid all the stuff about the Gruber controversies involving Obamacare. Well, I quickly found he was deeply involved in projects involving health care for the illegals. Here is a PDF DOCUMENT I found on this topic, "Undocumented Immigrants and Health Care Reform" published on August 31, 2012 with Gruber's name all over it. Use your "find" function and Gruber's name pops up over and over again starting with this at the beginning on Page 2: "Funding for this report was provided by a grant from The Commonwealth Fund. Special data runs were provided by Jonathan Gruber at MIT."

So my question is: Did Jonathan Gruber have input on the ILLEGAL executive order plan about to take place?

One meeting Gruber attended was personally chaired by Obola .... but I’m sure the claim will be that Obola only knows about him from news stories ...... except O’Reilly reported that the main stream presstitutes are ignoring the Gruber story.

MSNBC sure didn’t ignore it! They had Dr, Dean on their show and he hit it really hard, with his typical anger. It might have been for show.

What’s his name that used to be on with Hannity said that he spoke to Gruber and Gruber told him not to defend him, that he was wrong (to say that).

I am thinking that the Democrats have just decided to isolate the comments and claim that no one else agrees with Gruber.

...Gruber has been to the WH a dozen times (even more than the head of the CIA).

Gruber's attitude reflects Obama's... both have the same shared contempt for American citizens. It shows Gruber visited more than the CIA chief... look at the mess in China...

Good for MSNBC! At least 3 videos of Gruber saying the same or worse so ignoring it will be hard to do. Now FReeper sleuths working on another possible angle with Gruber involvement & if it pans out, it will be bigger than a smoking gun!

It would make sense that Gruber would be pushing for amnesty, so that they can give the illegals Obamacare Medicaid because they are banned from receiving any federal subsidies for Obamacare in the legislation. It would actually be impossible to give illegals subsidies when the subsidies are managed as a tax credit by the IRS. That’s why Obama needs to give them SSS#s.

By Peter Long and Jonathan Gruber Projecting The ImpactOf The Affordable Care ActOn California

EXCERPT

(Page 5)

Immigration status is a key factor in the pro-jections of the remaining number of uninsured people in the seven different areas of California. In three areas—Los Angeles, San Francisco, and San Jose—the largest group of those remaining uninsured would be undocumented residents. In Los Angeles, almost half of the people still un-insured in 2016 would be undocumented.

Conclusion of the "Undocumented Immigrants and Health Care Reform" report:

Conclusions: Enhancing Access to Care for Undocumented Immigrants in the ACA Era

All of the evidence points to continued poor access, or even declining access to health care for undocumented immigrants in the coming years. This is particularly problematic since the general health policy arena will be focusing on expanded access that results from the ACA, leading to decreased fiscal and political support for residual programs that have also benefitted undocumented immigrants in the past. There are a number of uncertainties about the fate of undocumented U.S. residents and their families, including the net effect of local clinic reductions that may counter increased federally funded community health center grants, the impact of reduced DSH payments on access to hospital services, reduced direct funding for preventive services, and the response of states and localities to the shifting mix of uninsured residents. Since at least three-quarters of those who will remain uninsured after the full implementation of the ACA will be U.S. citizens and permanent residents, it may be possible to design programs that focus on those left out of health care reform generically and design approaches that expand primary care and acute care subsidies that will also benefit the undocumented. The ACA will move us towards the goal of providing equitable access to health care for all persons who need it, but significant gaps will remain that will require creative solutions given the political and organizational constraints of the American medical care system

And the "creative solution" for putting illegals on Obamacare is to give them quasi legal status via Executive Order.

But, unfortunately, that wouldn’t neatly align with his sociological credo. Jonathan Gruber is the son of the New York University Stern Finance Professor (Emeritus) Martin J. Gruber, who received his Ph.D. from Columbia, and was once Director of the National Bureau of Economic Research. That’s equivalent to a winning genetic lottery ticket, isn’t it?

This is just speculation and please correct me if you think I am mistaken but...

Could this be some sort of curious "Plan B" if the bribes.....er... I mean subsidies.... for states that have NOT set up their own exchanges are declared unconstitutional by the U.S. Supreme Court???

I.E distribute the 4.5 million illegal aliens to every state and then sign them up for some new species of "Medicaid?"

I think that in addition to Congress, the 32 Republican governors need to take a stand.

Health Reforms May Hurt Uninsured - Study analyzes hospitals in California
THE SAN FRANCISCO CHRONICLE - Saturday, January 30, 1993
Author: Jonathan Marshall, Chronicle Staff Writer

Health care reforms under consideration by the Clinton administration could backfire against uninsured patients, a new study of California hospitals suggests.

A move in California in the 1980s to control the upward spiral of medical costs by encouraging price competition produced discounts of nearly 5 percent for paying patients, according to an analysis released by the National Bureau of Economic Research, an academic clearinghouse in Cambridge. Price competition is a key element in ``managed competition’’ and ``managed care’’ scenarios being reviewed by a White House task force led by Hillary Clinton.

At the same time, however, the move to competition also slashed the amount of uncompensated care 36 percent from its expected value.

``The bottom line I want to push is that if you lower the price of care, it may . . . not be unambiguously good if it means kicking out the uninsured,’’ said Jonathan Gruber , a Massachusetts Institute of Technology economist who authored the study.

Critics: Health proposals downplay cost of care
Cape Cod Times (Hyannis, MA) - Friday, November 11, 2005

Author: ROBIN LORD

EXCERPT

But Massachusetts Institute of Technology economics professor Jonathan Gruber , who has been an outspoken proponent of the House version of the plan, said his models do not project a huge shift by employers away from their private insurance coverage. And, even if that does happen, it is not necessarily a bad thing, he said.

‘’Insurance is supposed to mean you're not bankrupted,’’ he said. ‘’Health insurance should not cover all your spending.’’

Gruber agreed that health care costs need to be addressed, but he claimed arguing against the current reform packages on that basis is a case of ‘’perfect being the enemy of good.’’

‘’I agree these plans don't deal with health care costs in a meaningful way, because we have no clue how to lower health care costs,’’ he said.

‘’Let's deal with a problem we can solve.’’

Higher out-of-pocket costs could force consumers to pay more attention to the health care they are getting, and thereby lower costs overall, Gruber argued.

Consumers will avoid the health care they do not need, he said.
