* A site reported on Saturday that Macauly Culkin had been found dead in his apartment on Friday
* The story soon picked up steam on social media, especially Twitter
* In the end it turned out to be yet another hoax, and the 34-year-old is not dead
A story that child star Macauly Culkin had been found dead has proven to be false.
Just seven months after a similar rumor found its way on the Internet, some outlets reported that the body of the Home Alone star was discovered in his New York City Apartment on Friday.
The story then picked up steam as many on Twitter and Facebook began posting the false report.
It all started when a parody site wrote, 'Sources are reporting that Macaulay Culkin, best known for his role as Kevin McCallister in Home Alone and sequel Home Alone 2: Lost in New York, has been found dead at the age of 34.'
hey added, 'At least one occupant of the Manhattan apartment confirmed the apartment belongs to Culkin but police have not confirmed the man's identity at this time.'
As can be imagined, this then led to a lot of sad social media posts.

Usually, these things are caused by hang gliding accidents. Those get people like David Hasselhoff, John Travolta, or Huey Lewis.

How many people were aware of this hoax?
You know you’re washed up when even a death hoax “doesn’t take.”

And Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead. And still a better actor than Culkin ever was.

That cute little kid from the movie grew up to be one unusual looking individual, not that he seems to be doing anything but trying to look even more odd. He radiates unhappiness.

I never heard of the rumor before this. It doesn’t usually bother me when a celebutard dies either.
