SITTWE, Myanmar The Myanmar government has given the estimated one million Rohingya people in this coastal region of the country a dispiriting choice: Prove your family has lived here for more than 60 years and qualify for second-class citizenship, or be placed in camps and face deportation.
The policy, accompanied by a wave of decrees and legislation, has made life for the Rohingya, a long-persecuted Muslim minority, ever more desperate, spurring the biggest flow of Rohingya refugees since a major exodus two years ago.
The crisis has become an embarrassment to the White House ahead of a scheduled visit by President Obama to Myanmar next week. The administration considers Myanmar a foreign-policy success story in Asia but is worried that renewed conflict between Buddhist extremists, who are given a free hand by the government, and the Rohingya could derail the already rocky transition from military rule to democratic reform.
Mr. Obama called President Thein Sein of Myanmar last week, urging him to address the tensions and humanitarian situation in Rakhine State, the White House said.

Deportation where? Its not like the old days when there were unclaimed areas of wilderness.
Saudi?
Afghanistan?
Yemen?
Any number of muslime paradise locations. . .
Obama will bring them home with him
Yes, the Democrats are licking their lips at the thought of one million new voters in time for the 2016 elections.
Read “Camp of The Saints”. This would be an opposite appiication; put them on several hundred ships and sail them to Saudi Arabia, homeland of the muslimss. Have their own take care of them as the make their way to mecca and die in the desert on the way. Problem solved. Let it be a warning to the rest of the muslims in the West, continue your ways, and you’ll end up on your way to your homelands, voluntary or not. It will get to that point, based on history, or the West will be destroyed. Take your pick men and women of the West, the time’s a wasting adn the clock is ticking.
So, Myanmar will be the second country where Islam is prohibited, after Angola, about one year ago this month.
I wonder which country will be next? Muslims have made themselves obnoxious in just about every country, so it is really a test of national character how long it will be tolerated before Muslims will be sent back to the filthy, barbarian lands from which they came.
No worries. Obola will welcome them here to occupy vacant homes resulting from his decree of forced deportation of Jews from Miami to labor camps in the West Bank to rebuild destruction by IDF, to commence forthwith.
I wonder if the NYTs is signaling to Obama that he should arrange for them to be shipped here?
"WE ARE BURMA!"
The Muslim countries (Jordan) refused to let any Arabs from Israel move to their countries on purpose, because they wanted to keep them there so they could get rid of Israel. They weren’t Palestinians, they were Jordanians.
Obama sees himself as the worlds “Fixer”...because he doesn’t live in the reality of how the world works....He wants it working according to him, nobody appears to be listening so it’s all their fault.
Sounds to me like President Sein already addressed it, and did a damn fine job of it.
Hmmmm...does Obama do this for any other religious group being persecuted (most notably Christians)?!
Obola’s got his nose into this situation also??? Hey BOZO.....tend to US matters FIRST.
Buddhists persecuting Muslims?
The irony is rich, considering how many western leftists have embraced “tolerant” Buddhism.
HA! That would be a big fat NO!
“Deportation where? Its not like the old days when there were unclaimed areas of wilderness.”
Myanmar has a military which may not have a spell checker/grammer checker - could they have confused “deport” with “dehead”?
It would be a fitting error when dealing with an unwanted Muslim population.
Things like this happen all the time. Yet Israel is always considered the bad guy and the Palestinians are always considered the world victims.
