Note to people who sell on e-bay: tracking. Never send anything before it’s paid for, never send anything without tracking - and specify “no international sales” unless you’re willing to take the risk.

Loved ‘em, now I hate them.
Did lots and lots of biz with nary a single problem but THEN:
Ran my PayPal account down to exactly exactly zero, and they demanded 10 trillion very private documents from me, “send them TO US”.
Wah..? To exactly WHAT address
?
A simple question, but only robots spoke back to my email, and in TOTAL GIBBERISH.
I politely and concisely asked for a human —ANY human— and that was over 18 emails, back and forth.
Finally I simply blocked them, and I refuse to do business with them.
Too bad, cuz I really liked them for a long time there.
I’m 100% Amazon, now.

Ebay forgot that the Sellers are their customers and pay their rent. Sellers are treated terribly.
Things are only going to get worse starting in November when Paypal implements their 6 MONTH return policy.

I’ve never bought or sold anything on eBay, and I’m very happy about that.

They suck you dry as a seller.
Its a buyer’s paradise though. I’ve left only one negative feedback in the last couple of months there.

When it all began, eBay was really fun and safe. I bought lots of wonderful stuff there and the few vendors I complained to issued immediate refunds, even before I sent their stuff back.
Now? I wouldn’t dream of buying a single thing at eBay. Nada, zilch.

I only sold something on eBay once, and they stole all the money in fees.
I will never sell anything on eBay again.

i’ve done low volume buying on them for years saving a lot of money.
I finally got ripped off this year. Ebay covered my full loss without any trouble. I was surprised.
I have heard things are bad for sellers but I am mostly a buyer.

I’ve been buying on ebay from practically the beginning. Have sold a couple of times, but never made a penny. I will not sell any more, but do buy hard to find items. Sometimes you get screwed, even as a buyer, but that’s pretty unusual. I always leave positive feedback unless it was an absolute disaster. I have engaged in hundreds, almost a thousand transactions, and I can count on one hand the failures. I’ve found some wonderful items though, some of them are VERY unique, and took me years of searching to stumble across.

At one time in my life I was an Ebay-aholic. (Hi my name is berdie)
I spent a lot there...just loved the auctions. The sellers always made personal contact.
The last time I looked at anything there..it appears that the retailers have invaded and it’s all automated.
Sigh...I’m good with that, I guess. I really don’t need any more kerosene lamps, depression glass or musical powder boxes. :)

Years ago I did some buying on eBay. Mostly trumpets. Motorcycle parts. If you REALLY know what you are doing and seeing you can have fun. I love playing my Olds Ambassador I got for $50. Easily worth several hundred. Granted I had to put some sweat equity in, cleaning the remaining lacquer, etc. but not a dent in it. Bought several Pro horns in the $1,000 range. All easily worth it. In the beginning folks had stuff they had in the closet for decades that was in great shape and unused and really had no idea of it’s value. I doubt that is still true.

Left Ebay a year ago and haven’t looked back. They became as in-your-face about aiding and abetting theft as ObeyMe’s crowd is about their socialism. Good luck to them on becoming Mall of China Online! I was a hobby seller, nobody important enough for them anymore. But they lost me as a buyer, too. Never again. Screw ‘em.

eBay CASE # THURSDAY 10/30/2014
- "This probably means you will have to go to your post office to pick up this item. You should call them. I cant do anything about your PO problems from here. Only you as the addressee can do that . They should be holding it at the post office that delivers your mail. I am sorry you are having a problem.
I have acted in good faith as a seller and sent the grips you won to the address indicated on your Paypal payment.
Beyond this email from me you will have to pursue whatever recourse you seek from Ebay. (I have - including this posting "drisk46" on my new "SCHMIDT LIST")
I will not issue you a refund."
(- the statement of arrogant eBay Seller drisk46 statement on Thursday, October 30, 2014)
- The eBay Seller "drisk46" has received my complete prompt payment in full of $179.00
- (he or she refuses to issue a refund or contact USPS) today, this Thursday, October 30, 2014 -
Ruger XR3 frame first Model Blackhawk and Single-Six STAG grips
Order status: Shipped (but not received)
Paid $179.00 with PAYPAL on Oct 26, 2014 21:18 PDT
Seller has responded and has refused to resolve the problem - the eBay Seller selected the method of shipping and used the USPS as the shipping carrier - he or she has now washed his or her hands of the transaction and will not help resolve the issue.
Please open a case and act now as I have paid $179.00 in full but the Seller now completely refuses to - with over 3000 transaction on eBay the Seller appears to be arrogant and uncaring -
- This should have been the item I picked PayPal's new option : Buy now, Ship, Receive, and PayPal would bill my bank or card 15 DAYS AFTER I RECEIVED THE ITEM -
