I have followed all the Ferguson threads here on FR since the mike brown shooting with intensity; and restrained from comment from the plethora of opportunity, until now. My wife and 3 stepchildren are all from Ferguson, one of which still resides there with her father. I myself lived on Airport & Jackson, right on the border of what's left of Kinloch for quite some time. I'm intimately famaliar with the culture there. We've endured the criminal behaviour, and mob road blocks, and miscellaneous nefarious activities for years and years. The calls for violence against "whitey", law enforcement or civilian, should Darren Wilson be exhonerated have not gone unnoticed and disregarded.
Allow me to retort....the decent citizens of Ferguson, and North County in general are sick of your tantrums. If force is what you shall use, force is what you shall recieve. Do not deceive yourselves in the false pretense that we are in negligible numbers, unarmed, and weak. Allow yourselves to be assimilated to the bosom of leftist, communist, & homosexual organizations, and you will have crossed over to that which no tolerance awaits. Think long and hard concerning the path you wish to embark, for the repercussions of your actions are far from your expectations.
The good citizens of Ferguson, and Missouri want peace, but make no mistake... wrath does not belong to you alone. Choose wisely.
Savages.
That's harshe, err... harsh...err callous.
If you are who you say you are. And you mean what you say you mean, then you should shut up with the talk and sit quietly. No one here needs to read your threats.
And the prosecution will be using this as proof of your pre meditation.
Good luck with that.
Unfortunately, the LEOs are there to protect the gang of lawless young black rioters from such. It’s quite the paradox.
If ever the situations get out of their hands though, there’s quite a few articles on urban pacification of rioters by militiamen out there that discuss tactics. The one I like is 2 three man teams each with a flatbed truck creating a rapid response to flair ups.
Do you mean Charlie Callas ?
A sled. He is applauding for a sled. Bwhahahhahaha!
Just following the Common Core method of encouraging successful approximations with a gentle reminder on the preferred spelling. Never took out my red pen at any time...:-)
“as a native Missourian , this whole thing makes me want to join an active militia ....”
That would be the smart thing to do. What’s stopping you?
I believe he was applauding his alcoholic girlfriend in her pitiful (she stunk) debut in an opera he had financed. The movie is Citizen Kane.
I think you mean Maria Callas.
“You’re sneaking up on it: callous.”
************************************************************************************
Why would you want him/her to call you?
That's Orson Welles playing his role of a lifetime of Charles Foster Kane in Citizen Kane.
The situation from that applause scene is that his new wife, Susan Alexander Kane has just finished her leading role in an opera performance. His wealth and influence were such that he arranged for her starring role in the opera. It was horrid beyond belief, off key, ham-fisted in every way and terrible to the extreme. Kane, who was in a adulterous affair with this untalented "singer", is appalled that her performance draws only stunned silence from the audience. In a vain attempt to save his reputation, he starts his solitary applause. Because of his powerful position, the rest of the audience joins in tepidly.
That's why I've never understood the use of that graphic as a means to convey approval of anything. In that scene, Kane's applause is for an utterly rotten performance, a total fiasco.
That’s what happens when you try to appear smart at 2:30 in the morning. Thanks for the catch. ;-)
No matter what happens, it will all be reported as the Tulsa race riots and mass lynchings by the law-abiding, angry white folks.
Glad to see you took it as I intended - happens to all of us at some point.
People put it out there without that context meant. It’s a “serious” clap and they took it to mean solid support for something. Much the same way “Nimrod” became an insult to a generation that grew up on Bugs Bunny.
I hear you, I work nearby and stood a couple watches on the line before being sidelined for awhile with a medical issue.
I will be returning Monday to gear up and be as ready as possible for the no bill.
Undoubtedly, people are going to die after this comes down. How many and how much damage will be done is something yet to be tallied, but I fully expect racial grievances to be acted upon by at least the perpetually offended.
